Wizard x220, Hubsan X4 & Micro SciSky for 7E

Category: Model Configs

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and I have had a blast working on these model configs.

I'm new to quads and flying in general but I've been playing around with RC nitro and electric monster trucks for over a decade.

Anyway I uploaded my model configs.

Micro SciSky

www.dropbox.com/s/2a3elbyt0lqcb55/model1.ini?dl=0

Hubsan X4

www.dropbox.com/s/tht2wekhu6x22ui/model2.ini?dl=0

And one that I couldn't find anywhere...

The Wizard x220

www.dropbox.com/s/a8wi62s3cv727jt/model3.ini?dl=0

All configs are for a Devo 7E running deviation with no extra switches but I did install the A7105 (is that right I don't remember).

Hope this helps someone out there!

File Name: model12.ini

Just another config for Hubsan Quads. This was created on Devo 8 with 5.0.0 Firmware For me it works with Hubsan X4 V2, Hubsan FPV X4 (H107D), and Revell Nano Quad

Rudder DR down: Throtthe hold
Gear: Up LED on
FMOD 0: Ele/Ail: 70% DR - 40% Expo, Rudd: 60% DR - 25%, Expo, Flips disabled
FMOD 1: Ele/Ail: 100% DR - 25% Expo, Rudd: 100% DR - 0% Expo, Flips disabled
FMOD 2: Ele/Ail: 100% DR - 25% Expo, Rudd: 100% DR - 0% Expo, Flips enabled (same as FMOD1 except Flips)
Countdown timer triggered by Trottle and resetted by Rudder DR down to 3:30 min.

The hubsan4 image wasn't created by me, but I didnt find it for linking, therfore it is attached again.

Awesome, I have just fitted fitting 3 way switches a few days ago and was about to start looking into how to set them up.

I was also curious about disabling flips.

Pretty much exactly what I was looking for :)

I'll be sure to try it out. Thanks for sharing!

DEVO 7E + Hubsan X4

Category: Model Configs

Hello,

I have been playing around with the models on the DEVO 7E for my Hubsan X4. It has been quite a learning curve but I think I have got a pretty complete file here.

I have modded the 7E a bit with 2x 3 way switches added and both the A7104 and NRF modules with external antennas. Want to do the main Tx chip next.

Basically HOLD enables Tx inhibit, SW A has slow rates, high rate flips disabled and high rates with flips, SW B no function, FMOD turns the LEDs on and off.
Three timers, one to countdown current flight which can be reset using the Negative Left Vertical Trim, another for current total flight time and the third for a lifetime counter.

Let me know what you guys and girls think.

Okay guys, I know this model has been beaten to death since it's so popular, but I am struggling to get flips working on my H107l board. I bought the board separately for a Micro FPV build and the thing flies like a dream, but I can't get it to flip I downloaded goebish's .ini with !FMODE saying that it worked on turning flips on and off. However, it just doesn't seem to make a difference. The led switch works on gear fine, but not the flips on FMODE. Any suggestions or someone with a definitely working H107L that will flip?

Edit: Okay, it works. My bad. I guess I didn't know what a throw was. I'm very pleased.

I have tried it and it does work although it's not as reliable as I'd hoped. IIRC, two switch movements (on/off or off/on) are required to change the state of the camera and there's a timing issue so I found it would work/no work at times. I didn't really play with it much though, just tried it as a curiosity.

I've been reading threads on RCgroups and here, and have been finding a lot of info from 2012-2014, in threads that are thousands of posts long. It's really hard to weed through them and find out what solutions worked, and which ones were edited out over time. I've yet to find a perfect hubsan x4 ini, nothing that was a complete ini I could download and install and have everything set to work as I had hoped, so I thought I'd start a new thread here with the goal of posting a nice ini file at the end. I'm not quite there yet. I have a working ini that has a few issues that I'd like to work on, and I'm hoping some of you here can help.

I have been asking about this in Daryoon's 7e thread too, on RCgroups.com, on page 277+

so far this is what I have:

MIX switch is being used for a throttle safety
I have lights running off GEAR switch
D/R switch currently switches between dual rates
FMOD currently - not sure what it does, but I think it disables flips. it did before I started messing with this stuff.

What I'd like to accomplish:

1. The MIX switch throttle safety isn't safe - it cuts the throttle, but for some reason the safety value is 100, so when you flip it back, you have to hit 100 instead of -100 to overcome the safety. I'd like to have it be safe, requiring a throttle down to restart. I fixed this by editing the ini directly to remove the ! from before !THR. This seems to have done the trick.

2. I want to switch the D/R and FMODE switches... I think having D/R turn flips on and off would be a better use of the 2 position switch, and using FMODE for rates would allow 3 sets of rates instead of 2.

I am also interested in opinions on how I have the rates set, using expo20 curves, and what you'd do at the various rates. I *think* I would like expo on the rudder, elevator and aeleron, but I'm new to this all, so please tell me what you think.

This has also made me want to suggest a feature - is it possible to add a comment and date at the top of an ini file? it would be soooo useful if the ini files had a creation date, and possibly a thread url associated with it.

anyway, here is the file I have so far. I will be updating it here and on RCgroups as it progresses.

I've also attached an updated toggle graphic I have been using to help with the testing. It includes icons for lights on, flip, noflip, stop, go, slow 70% and fast 100%. I will probably update this as time goes on as well.

thanks in advance for your help. Deviation rocks.

Here are some code snippets that should help. Presuming Channel 3 is the throttle channel, you set up a virtual channel to handle the "sticky throttle hold". Please use Search for "Sticky Throttle Hold" and you'll see some really awesome discussion and help on this topic.

On the Devo 6S I think most people use the GEAR switch rather than HOLD. You can choose whatever switch you are comfortable with. We are testing the code to add more switches to the 6S, so I put in a dedicated HOLD switch on my 6S now, along with additional trims and a couple other things. Gotta love this software!

I'm afraid it's the blind leading the blind here, but I do know how to set the safety switch.. immediately under [channel3] add these two lines:

safetysw=HOLD1
safetyval=-100

You may have to replace HOLD1 with an unused switch from the 6S (I don't know anything about that model) but on the 7E this locks out the throttle when the HOLD switch is in the down position.

I'm looking for similar information. I have a Hubsan x4 107c, and a Devo 6s with devo6-v4.0.1-583c468.

The build has a hubsan model built in, and it will fly the quad, and I can toggle the leds with the gear switch. Supposedly one of the switches allows/dissallows autoflips, but I don't know which one, and haven't tested it with enough space to try flips. I don't care that much about flips really, but would like to know how to use the switches. On the radio, I was able to add the voltage telemetry to the display, and have been able to map switches on the display and add a custom icon... but have not been able to figure out how to make a throttle safety. I also found your model here and thought I'd ask what the key differences are between your ini and the stock one. I'm new to deviation, just trying to figure it all out. If you could help me make sense of the code, that would be great.

here is the code from my stock hubsan profile that is installed as model 2 on mine:
