Support for Phoenix? was created by Rain4LA
Just wondering if anyone has found the best way to get Devo to work with Phoenix Sim. I've got it where it will work, but it seems a little buggy. Any help would be awesome.
Thanks,
Todd

You have to set the protocol to PPM.

One file is the Phoenix TX file, it goes in:
C:\Users\Username\Documents\PhoenixRC\Settings\mappingProfiles\Custom
(That's on windows 7)
(EDIT... Can't upload the file.. I've renamed it to .TXT on the end, but you have to name it back to .pxc)
Second file is the model.ini file, you know what to do with that.
And of course, we need an icon!
Channels are:
1-Ele
2-Ail
3-Thr
4-Rud
5-Gear switch
6-F-mode switch
7-Mix switch
8-Rudder DR switch (used for throttle hold)
You will need to calibrate the tx in phoenix, make sure that the F-mode and Mix switches are in the MIDDLE position before you start the calibration, other wise Phoenix sees it as an on/off switch.

Glad it helped. Forgot to mention, the number 4 on the pc number pad is set for low rates in Phoenix. The aileron d/r switch on the devo will also do low rate output on ail and ele not rud. Edit as you wish...
Cheers

Hi, I'm here after a search because I flashed my Devo 10 to 2.1.1 and found Phoenix 4 cannot see my TX.
I'm confused about what I am reading here.
One reply says "You have to set the protocol to PPM." Is it that simple, is that all I need to do?
The next one from Hexperience is a little more involved.
(1) One file is the Phoenix TX file, it goes in:
C:\Users\Username\Documents\PhoenixRC\Settings\mappingProfiles\Custom.
OK.
(2) Second file is the model.ini file, you know what to do with that.
Not me....
What do I do with it?
Can someone explain a little more in detail if just changing the protocol to PPM is not all thats needed for the Devo 10.
Thanks

The simple answer is:
set the protocol to 'PPM' nad press 'Re-init' You now can plug into Phoenix and it will work.
To Deviation, PPM is just like any other protocol. Hexperience's instructions allow you to fully configure a model with the channel outputs so you can get the most out of it.
your model.ini goes on your TX. Start the tx while holding 'ENT' you'll see a USB logo. plug into your PC and it should detect the Tx as a Removable Drive. Copy model.ini to modles/model2.ini (choose a number) Now if you load model2 in your Tx, you will have a Phoenix configuration pre-tuned.

Please,
I`m using my Devo8s with the USB cable. Computer recognizes it. But I don`t know how to calibrate it on Phoenix. So, I`m trying to use your files.
When I copy the walkera file to documents directory and transform it to .pxc, phoenix stops working. It looks like this file is not compatible with the phoenix 4.0.
I`ve even tried to edit one of my existing custom profiles, copying what`s inside the Walkera_8s.txt, but it stills not working.
Do you have any idea? Is there anything wrong with me?
Another thing: the transmitter is not recognizing this icon. It`s a little bit bigger than the other icons. Is this a problem?
Thank you in advance.

Dandan, you need to use the trainer cable and the supplied Phoenix USB dongle. It won't work directly plugged into USB.

i got a devo 10 with deviation v3.0.0 and none of the switches are recognized during calibration in phoenix.
i got it set to PPM and the channels 1,2,3,4 calibrate fine for the sticks so using plane and heli work normal for flight.
i tried changing the retract gear option in phoenix from channel 5-8 but no response from the switches, the only way i can get retract gear to work is select a letter for the keyboard. i tried the profile in this thread and that made no difference.
there must be a setting i'm missing any help please.

You should also set some switches to produce output on some channels, Phoenix is not clairvoyant enough to tell that you have some switches on your Devo.
