V977 on 7e was created by Condor
Has anybody got the V977 working on a 7e if so could they talk me through it? I have installed the NRF24L01 PA module, when I updated the firmware to the latest nightly version I had problems. The 7e does not recognise the installed Transmitter and when I do a stick cal. It overwrites TXT.ini Transmitter section with the calibration section. I await any members comments. Condor

Did you take a look at the hardware.ini?

Hi Amax I did not have hardware ini setup so I can now setup using KN. Is that the correct Proto? Is there any thing else I need to do. Thanks Condor

Here is the model I use. This one require 2 3ways switches installed into Devo7e. You can find detail about how to add switch here www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1918045 If you have a D7e, this mod really gives more versatility to your TX. You also need the latest nightly build firmware to enable extra switches for D7e, 4.01 standard does not support extra switch.

I use A switch for 3 rates and B switch to toggle between 6G(position 0) and 3D (position 1 and 2). B switch position 2 also engage agility mode which allows more throw on servo in every rate. Hold for throttle and Fmod for idle-up. If you lost control during 3D maneuver, you can turn B switch to position 0 to reengage 6G which will disable idle-up and auto level your heli. I found out that if the heli is upside-down and you switch to 6G, pitch will shift to negative automatically but if you lower the throttle, there will not be enough lift to keep heli aloft.

Agility mode? More throw in all 3 rates?

Does this mean you can get a little extra throw compared to the stock TX in H rates ?


Im looking to get the 7e as i have the 977 with stock tx and would like something a little better that i can fly other helis with and not end up with another stock tx tired to 1 model.

This was my exact motivation for doing my 7E. It was a little painful at first getting the modules working as i had a bad NFR the first round and was racking my head thinking i was doing something wrong. but now i have a A7105 and the NRF24L01+ and am vary pleased that i can fly my V977, V931. and my beloved little V911 all from the same radio. and being able to tweak stuff is nice.

Victor123s, Thanks for this file. I really like how you set it up. I am just learning so this is going to be a great file to reverse engineer and mess with.

One thing does allude me at the moment. I notice for my V931 that i needeed a lot of aileron trim and when i did that it takes away from the regular stick authority in that direction. Is there somewhere else i should be setting up my permanent trims so that i get the same servo throw in both negative and positive stick directions. I hope that make sense.

I got my V977 with 7E up. But the LED blink from time to time. Every blink will cause the communication stop for a short time (0.3sec ?).

Are there other people having the same problem?

I have same problem with Devo10. I switched KN-protocol speed at 1Mb and this will happen less often, but still happens sometimes.

I adjust the swash links for a stable hovering...

In the manual, WL do mentioned about manual calibration by using the stock TX, but seems not feasible for Deviation..

same here. D7e. very frustrating. have anybody any idea what can be? Tx or Rx?

I didn't payed attention initially to the proximity of the Tx to Rx. Then I made the binding with the Tx antenna very close to the heli. After that, the RX LED didn't blinked, not even once. Tried twice.

I've got the same problem.
And I think that the problem not in the NRF24L01 module. Because I've solder the original module frome RTF transmitter (connected to TMS pin)

Hi there.I have same problem using 977 and devo 10 and using same heli config.It looks like the controls are "sticky" and when it losses signal(thats what i think) swash and pitch and rudder stays in last position...I've changed fixed id's many times and switched between 1mb on and off,turned antenna in different ways,then i was thinking my wi fi router makes anu references but it happens outside on field as well...right now i'm using fixed id 1111 and it happens less,like 1-2 times every 4-5 flights and i almost having crash because i fly hard 3D...then i though it happens when i move sticks all the way and there is conflict with protocol and heli receiver but it repeated even when i fly just circles or pirouetting(no 3D)...thanks i nadvance if any suggestions in solving this problem.

Looks like the same behavior I got. When it loses signal, the servos stick there. suvsuv's folk has a modify version since e91be3b for KN protocol. According to the update comments, he "rewrite v977/v966 protocol to improve reliability".

I will post the result when I have a change to try it.

just for information, I've been using KN protocol on my 7e with v977 config for my v931 AS350 heli and no problem whatsoever...


BTW, jimqip please post a link to suvsuv's web 'cause I have not visit his work after changing back to ver 4 on Deviation

Seems to be the same problem with the the KN protocol on Feilun FX071/70C.
One guy with a Devo7e got it working for him, all the others with a Devo10 failed.
Sticky swash action, improper binding or lost connections after some distance.
All of them are pretending to know what they are doing, may be the protocol or an indiviual fault. Who knows, just saying.

I found the place on the table where my V977 has stick servo and lost connection (led on V977 is blink).
Also I found that the problem is depend on fixedid.
I I tried to use NRF24L01+ module and Beken BK2423 (from strd V977 transmitter)
The data with fixed id number below.
"+" is mean problem exist
"-" is mean no problem.

I think that the problem is crossing with wifi signal.
Anybody know how fixedid is shift frequency in the 2400-2525MHz range?
