there were several files that moved around, and thatis probably the issue.
in your patch file replace common_devo with common/devo everywhere and it'll probably apply again.

The old patches from here:
www.deviationtx.com/forum/how-to/1436-add-two-switches-to-the-devo-7e
always stuck on the last lines of tx_buttons.c which can be easily corrected manually.
I applied the 2-two switch and the 1-three switch patches without any problems. There might be problem with your patch file.
Please find attached both patches as they are working on my system with the addition that the switches are working in the emu also.

I do not know if the VM of the Build station is somehow limited. The attached patch works and adds also the functionality to the emulator even if you do not use it.
Maybe sbstnp as the developer can clarify.

Hi Marciaa,
Would you post a link to the patched versions you made?
I added a 3 way switch for multiwii use to my 7e.
I haven't had any luck with building a 'patched version...
Just me I guess....
Thanks
John L.

I think that is just a bug in the PM system. There is no way of encrypting a PM in our board, and likely no way to decrypt it either.

I think this happens when you select the 'password' checkbox and input a password, but if the person on the receiving end doesn't have the password its pointless using it.

you can find working patches in the same posts as my builds, and there is nothing wrong with sbstnp's vm build machine as i have just tested it, i dowloaded the latest source from pb's repo, applied the two 2way switch patch, and compiled the firmware on it without issue
