Missing Cyclic1 &3 was created by digitracer
Hey,

another maybe stupid question.
Today I wanted to put my flybar Trex450 to Deviation and thus used a Trex500 template published at the models section as a basis. Strange thing happened then since the channel settings where cyclic 1 &3 were applied were converted to cyclic2. On trying to change to the proper cyclic settings I noticed that on the mixer selection I dont have any other option than cyclic2. Am I missing something here or is this a bug?
How or where can I find the 2 missing cyclics? Is it just me who has this problem?

Edit: The problen is on Devo8s with FW 2.1 running.
On my Devo6 with FW 1.2 there is no problem with that at all.

Okey,

this gets kind of frightening!
After 24 viewers with not the slightest hint, I made a backup of my filesystem and reinstalled the whole thing from scratch. And what shall I say: I works again. :woohoo:
After restoring my model inis I compared the backup files with the downloaded originals and can't find any difference at all.
So the disappearence of Cyclic1 and Cyclic3 must have been caused by the FW itself! I don't want to think about what would have happened if Deviation had changed the settings while flying!
I anybody interested I noticed that insted of Cyclic1 & 3 there were 2 new options ":Cyclic2" and ":DR" to chose from within the mixer selection box.
I also noticed that I had reboots some days before trying to create a complex mixer putting gyro values on mix0 to mix2. On setting a switch (mix0) to the initial gyro value the system always rebooted without storing the values. I don't know whether this was the time when the cyclic settings were killed. Its just a hint.

I will admit that I was one of those viewers but I couldn't figure it out. I looked at the ini file and my radio and all was selectable so I had no idea. I have the Devo 10.
I have also had some rebooting when setting up from a blank ini file when I got to complex mixer on throttle. I entered values and half way through it would beep and go back to previous used model.
If I stared a new model from a 6ch heli I had no problems. Probably something my fault as I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole system.

I have found the following:

If the language is set to German, then I have the same problem. Instead of Cyclic1 and Cyclic3 => :Cyclic2 and :DR was displayed.

Taking English, Cyclic1 and Cyclic3 will be shown.

This looks like a syntax error in the german language file, but I can't see it. Could you try to get a fresh one and save it in the deviations filesystem (tx in USB mode) in laguage/lang.ger?

The German lang file introduce a bug ?!
Try this:
Select lang Deutsch
=> go to the model config mixers
=> Choose Virt1
=> go to Cyclic2 (you will see the first strange bug notify by digitracer, lang.ge looks ok?)
=> Don't save this setup ,Exit
=> Return to transmit config , Generic settings
=> Sprache : click on Wählen ......wait 2 sec ... TX REBOOT!!!

Seems like a deep hidden bug :-( . I think that a lang file error does not introduce unwanted reboot.

In fact, there is no reboot with the lastest lang.ger, but exist with the following. I think that an error in a lang file does not cause a reboot...
The reboot does not exist in the emu_devo10 but only in the real devo10?

Sure there is still a bug somewhere in the last config/language.c
in debug mode , the CONFIG_ReadLang() function show :
60997: :Curve:
: Kurve:
56707: :Cyclic1
: :Cyclic2
56705: :Cyclic3
: :DR

Where in the lang.ger we can read:
:Curve:
Kurve:
:Cyclic1
:Cyclic2
:Cyclic3
:DR

I've opened an issue on the PB repo.

Then it is an invalid language file!
Every other row shouldn't start with a colon! There are missing translations...

Sure, but I think that an error in a language file does not create a reboot bug.
I've proposed to PB a patch to turn around this kind of errors.

language files can absolutely cause a reboot if malformed. The reason is that we do no bounds-checking on string lengths anywhere in deviation. This is actually on purpose because using snprintf would cause the code not to fit on the devo7e.

That said, this specific issue looks easy enough to resolve.
