Would be nice to see this implemented along with any other stock features.
After all, i bought this tx for its features, shame to loose them.
Anyone?

Maybe you ask for a new feature. But what? I can not read it from your lines.
Do you even use deviation? Or stock firmware?

Yes i have read manual, and yes, i "now" use deviation.
Thread is over two months old, seems no one else can figure it out, including "you".
Hover thr and pit is standard feature of 8s and i would like to have it with deviation.

looks like i will have to return tx to original firmware if i want original features. hover thr and pit is one of the reasons i chose the 8s over 6 or 7.
had it on previous tx also, eclipse 7

stay calm...
You should know that sometimes I have more time for helping other deviation users and in other periods I have other priorities. When you asked first I was sure you will get an answer by somebody else and I did not track this.
I just try to help you because I saw you did not get any answers for a longer time (and I can spend some time for this), but I really do not know what you need.
It is more than a year ago I used the stock firmware the last time. And my flying skills (and needs for programming the transmitter) weren't as good as they are now so I surely did not use all options in the stock firmware.
So let me guess:
(1) You want to hover at mid throttle stick and might need to trim the throttle channel as well as the pitch channel ==> define separate trims for the throttle channel and the pitch channel.
(2) You want to hover at mid throttle stick in FMODE0 (hovering / easy sightseeing flight) without affecting the other flight modes ==> use virtual channels with trims and add them to throttle / pitch only when FMODE0 active.
(3) You want something else ==> please explain in a few more words what it is and I will try to figure out if I can help you.
In the thread you mentioned FDR has made some effort to find a solution and as far as I can see it seemed to work. FDR mentioned a few things which also came into my mind, especially that it will not work in any 3D-mode.
But the thread is more than a year old and there were huge steps in development since then - maybe some configurations work different with an actual build.
BTW, which build do you use? 3.0.0, an earlier or the actual nightly build (no changes since August)?

So,
1) what is a template
2)what do i do with it
You say in that thread it is for Walkera FBL rx
I do fly Walkera micro cp.
but i also fly, flybared heli's
use spectrum and corona rx
I personaly think all standard features of devention should have been retained

so your solution really doesn't solve the issue one way or the other

Then, scour this forum, learn whatever you are able to, then come and ask questions specific to your needs.
We are happy to help most of the time, but keep in mind this is our free time and since most questions tend to pop at least once a month, we'd rather point you to the forums than repeat same info over and over again.
You should try to add more details to your questions and maybe show us where you get stuck. It is much easier to work on something and fix mistakes or show different ways to achieve results than start from scratch with something that's of no use to me.
Good luck!

Hi,
I have read manual, scoured forum and spent many hours fiddling with tx.
I thought hover pit and thr was well known to most heli pilots so assumed the question was straight forward and needed no furthar explanation.
I will do some more homework but at this time i think that some things need to be made more user friendly and or better instructions.
Please, this is constructive criticism (not negative attitude), i think Deviation is a good thing, and with a little more work could be a great thing.
Sorry i have not been able to contribute yet, new to deviation and not big on computers, makes it hard.

Have a nice day.
"...and where I called for the development of a new protocol (I only forgot to say 'please')..." - although you have obviously read the FAQ, the tenor was very demanding.
You should have learned that your assumption might be wrong. But you do not take any effort to explain what you mean, just repeating that anybody must understand you.I thought hover pit and thr was well known to most heli pilots so assumed the question was straight forward and needed no furthar explanation.
And yes, we all try to make deviation better and better, but again I can not see what you need and what deviation does not already have.
Do your homework and come back.
As long as you are not able to explain what you can't realize with the hints you have got or what you want us to do for you I will follow RandMental's example and spend my time for useful things.
Please also keep in mind that many of us are not native English speakers.
