Hi, I was looking for help on how to get a template to do a standard heli mixer using DSM2 via S.Bus for Robird g31 Gyro using the 9channel dsm2 Orange RX with S.Bus. S.bus output on the standard heli template I am using uses spektrum channel outputs instead of Futaba and I cannot adjust it on the g31. I've tried editing the model.ini and it works until I try to goto the throttle page where it says the model.ini is invalid? Is there a way around that?

Basically I need channel 1 (throttle) to be 3, 2 (aileron) to be 1 and ch3 (elevator) to be ch2.
Spektrum is 1-Throttle, 2-Aileron, 3-Elevator
Futaba is 1-Aileron, 2-Elevator, 3-Throttle.

Would love to use the satellites except my orange sats and DSM2 spektrum sat do not work for failsafe for some reason! So my current option is use the fullsize 9ch receiver I have but the channel mapping is messed up.

Would you upload your config file here? We can modify it to make it working, I am sure.

Has this ever been resolved?

I was looking to use a 3ch Orange Rx with S.Bus and this is one of the few threads related to this...

So i wonder whether it will work:)

I use that receiver with a 7E, however my Multiwii quadcopter has no issues assigning the channels whichever way you need.
I can at least tell you that it works fine.

Hm still cant get it to run...
Is there anything special in the model setup that needs to be done?
I am using Orange R620 so i used DSM2 to connect to it but i cant get any input on my naze32.
Would be good to know that there is no room for error on the TX side at least:/

Are you using an inverter cable?

Although you can build one yourself with just a few components too.

I don't have a naze, but as far as I know, you have to hook it up to one of the UART ports, and supply power to the receiver too of course. Did you do that?

Well thats where the uncertainty starts...
I've connected it to pin 1 (GND-5v-P1) but found comments on having it to connect to input pin 4.
Did that as well, no change.
Played around with different settings as well but no success yet...
Thats where documentation is getting scarce.

Receiver is powered and connected...

I remembered I do have a PPM enabled receiver as well, i will try that one instead of the s.bus one to see if thats working at all.

Ok, got it to go ... somewhat (Cleanflight example here), connect Signal to Receiver Pin4 (first pin second row)

feature -RX_PARALLEL_PWM
feature RX_SERIAL
set serial_port_2_scenario = 3
set serialrx_provider = 2

Dont use port 1 or RX_Serial wont be svaed
