So far I had no problems flying skyartec nano cps using devo 8S with a tx module from skyartec radio. When I flew skyartec nano cp today, my heli suddenly was out of control. Also, as I tried to flew another skyartec heli, it was spinning on the ground. At that time, the screen of my devo8s indicates 4.68V~4.7V. However, walkera cps have no problems today.

If I remember correctly, devo 8s works properly for more than 3.3V. (There is a 3.3V regulator, right?) So, I set the low voltage of my devo 8s to 4.0V for safety.

Is there something that I missed?

You are right; deviation should work down to 3.3V besides the saving of config files which will not work with less than 3.8V. But there is some protection and a warning dialog built in. But even in this case controlling a bird should be no problem.
Are you sure that you used a rf module which works with 3.3V? If they have their own voltage regulator they might need a higher voltage to have something to regulate... I don't know the skyartec module.

Be careful NOT to run the input voltage at the Devo8s connector below 3.6 Volt.
