LCD remaining blank on my devo7e was created by christx
hello!
i installed deviation on my radio without any problems. Then i soldered the A7105
i modified the tx.ini file.
But before testing it with an hubsanX4 the lcd didn't display any informations.
And i couldn't turn it off using the power button.
To do so i have to remove batteries.
I linked the radio to the computer and i have been able to start in the USB mode (the USB logo appears on the lcd)
What should i do?
i permit myself to send you the content of the section [modules] in my tx.ini file:
enable-cyrf6936=B12

has_pa-cyrf6936=0

enable-a7105=A13

has_pa-a7105=1

enable-cc2500=None

has_pa-cc2500=0

enable-nrf24l01=None

has_pa-nrf24l01=0

Most likely you have a soldering issue. Please inspect your soldering.
Also possible: you mixed up the MOSI and MISO lines (most often) or some others. MOSI, MISO and SCK are shared between all SPI devices like the CYRF module, the extra modules and the LCD controller. Only the select lines are separate for each device.
So if you mixed up something communication with the LCD is not longer possible.
In the USB mode the modules are not used so no interference is observed.

things are getting better:
i reinstalled deviation and it seems to work (the lcd works)
but when i place the ini file for my hubsan x4 (wich i renamed model1.ini) and when i light on my radio the lcd remains blank again.
i copied the initial model1.ini in the models directory and the radio works again.
if you know a tutorial (for beginners like me) which explains well how to set up
a model it could help me!
i will consider opening again my radio to check the connections but i think it's ok. i am going to have a look to mosi and miso lines
please forgive my poor english i am from france and it's sometimes hard to understand everything....

With the A7105 there is no MISO connection. With Deviation it uses 3-wire SPI. When I had MISO connected to the A7105 my tx kept resetting, but the symptom may depend on which protocol is selected.

i copied an other model settings file:
the file is for a blade 180QX and it seems to work!!! :) :)
unfortunately i don't posses a 180QX
if anyone knows where to find a valid config file for a x4 and a devo 7e?
tonight i go to my club to fly and maybe i could bind a blade if only i could
find right files for devo 7e :woohoo:

No that wont work. The A7105 is installed wrong or is defective. The only reason the 180QX works ist because it dose not use the A7105 it uses the built in cyrf. Plese check your wiring and soldering and use a multi meter to check for shorts if you have one. I had a simular problem with a defective cc2500 module. Do not use your 7e as is there might be a short somewhere pulling to mutch current!

i will check the connections!
but i would like to try again so i repeat my question:
where can i find a configuration file for a devo7e and a x4 v2?
also when i say the lcd remains blank what i want to say is:
there is no info on the lcd but there is some light.
when you say it won't work you mean it for dsm2 and dsmx protocols also or only hubsan protocol (on the model set up the * before hubsan is removed)

ok so i recently did the same install in my devo 7e it has the same problem when trying to fly my protox with the hubsan prot. anyway i have seen a couple other complaints detailing same issue and with the same results i think this is a problem up until i failed at the range mod womp womp i had a great working tx that would fly blade walkera syma and wl toys stuff on the fly sky prot. so the soldering was most likely correct i am going to start fresh in couple days and make whole new tx and we will see if the problem is persistent

Good luck guys.

Regarding a blank display, I have seen this problem when the battery is low. Worth a shot.

Otherwise, confirm which firmware build you're using.

Some of us can try with an X4 if we have one.

i m going to try one more time the soldering of
an XL7105-D03 module on my devo 7e.
i found two arrays (they are posted in this topic as 1.jpeg and 2.jpeg), what would be
the best for my configuration?
thanks for your attention.

Picture 1 works for 4.01 & nightly, but the module will not be put completely to sleep. The TX draws over 100 mA more.
With the nightly take picture 2, but....there is GND missing!

In short, picture1 but bind on module 6 to 9 and 7 to 8....no VDD to 9 !

NO..........
Your pdf is for the Nightly Builds.

For Deviation 4.0.1 use the old wiring, where pin 9 (TXen) on the module is connected to pin 1 (VCC/ on module)......and pin 3(GND) to pin 8 (RXen)
