Devo 12S not binding everytime?

Hi all. I have a devo 12s that im using with my Hexacopter. It has a RTH and/or Failsafe function that is activated if you fly out of range or the radio goes dead.

The issue I seem to be having is that when I just tested it out at the field, it came back to the positing of launch, but didn't reconnect to the RX once I had turned the TX back on? I did try 4 or 5 times by switching the TX on and off again but it did nothing.

I eventually got it to bind but I had to unplug the hex's battery and reconnect it?

is there anything I can do to make the RX and TX talk to each other again once the power has been turned off and on again without removing the main battery to reset everything

I did just watch something on youtube with the Devo 12S and he was using a fixed ID. Should I do what he was doing and see if I have any luck?

he just seem to be using the bind plug to erase the data or old codes, then setting up fixed id? Perhaps I need to try that?
