That´s the one I already tested and the noise detected .
Therefore Indigo advised me to test the recent nightly builds.

Thank you aMax. Some change I've made must be causing this noise problem.

Yes, that is correct. We need to first make sure there are no problems before we add this Telemetry update to team nightlies.

FYI: I did a merge with team nightly 2015-03-24 before publishing these recent test builds so it will have all but the most recent updates.

EDIT: Range (dsm2/x with park rx RX615X)) is good as the day before yesterday.
100uW >8m> kitchen/livingroom(double wall).
Even from upstairs, same distance, through the congrete floor at 45 degree
angle, while at the devo the range test is activ.

What I have to remark, the antenna is always well-positioned at its best radiation pattern....

Hi guys, I have DEVO 10 w/ deviation 4.0.1, I have done no mods with my TX. I downloaded Indigo's latest fw and read the file UPDATING.md, there's written: "If you haven't modded your transmitter, this shouldn't be an issue".

I have not been using any nightly builds yet so I have not modded my TX as well, but Im considering to use improved Indigo's fw due to increased range and telemetry fix.

As I mentioned before Im gonna to buy 700 class heli and I would like to use my amazing DEVO 10 TX, but what should I do to be albe to flash Indigo's fw and what about the file system in my TX? (Im sorry it's little bit out of topic, but Im quite confused and don't know where to look).

Sorry I didn't like to sound unpolity, all of you have my respect and admiration, because I know than this is not easy and there are a lot of work behind a new update for ours radios, but I change all my helis to DSMX and sold my other radio and just have a 12S I really interesting in this Topic, because in this way I won't fly them.

When you will start final testing for new official build? Do you have any roadmap for final version?

Fully agree. Not an easy thing to do, and indoors its almost impossible.

Go outside to do range measurements. Even outside you may get different results depending on humidity, vegetation and car traffic. Indoors you get rubbish results.

My range experiments did show you need up to 500m distance to test dsm2 / dsmx radios. Dsm2 or dsmx had the same range. Devo and original radios had about the same range when corrected for output power. Non-obstacle caused dropouts start at 200m.

Frsky doesent show any weakness at my maximum test distance of 800m. I have to firmly grab the antennas with both hands to make it fail. I havent tested futaba yet, i expect it to be on par with frsky. Flysky seems to be slightly inferior to frsky but much better than dsm.

Conclusion of my range tests is DSM2 and DSMX sucks. I did 3 different type of orangerx receivers. First signal loss occurs 20m behind the house, then 60m behind some vegetation, then intermittant operation from 200m to 500m. None of the other brands does have this problems. Frsky is rock solid at 800m and doesent bother about a house or some vegetation.

Hello Cesco I'd like to ask you what is the version than you are trying, the last one mod for testing by Indigo?
OMG Finally I will see myself buying a Futaba 14SG....and I don't want but selling all my DSMX and my love 12S

Which combination have you tested? Coud you name the exact version?
deviation <-> genuine Spektrum RX?
deviation <-> orange/Lemon?
Spektrum TX <-> genuine Spektrum RX?
Spektrum TX <-> orange/Lemon RX?
orange TX <-> orange/Lemon RX?

BTW:
The test method, this guy uses in his video is very revealing.
Range is good reliability is better

I dont have any genuine spektrum gear. I have the orangerx T-SIX. Corrected for output power the T-SIX and deviationtx have the same range (T-SIX has 158mw, devo has 65mw). Deviationtx range on dsm2 and dsmx was the same.

What i have seen is enough for me, but in no way bulletproof or scientific.

One problem is you cant test a bunch of receivers together as the telemetry output deafens the other receivers. Dsm2/x will fail whenever a frsky or flysky 2way receiver is near.

Planned tests (i have the hardware):
Devo in devo mode with walkera rx
orangerx tx module (dsm2 + dsmx)

Tests i dont have the hardware:
Spektrum tx - orangerx

Planned tests needing extended distance (i have the hardware):
Frsk tx module
Flysky 2way

Hi, as I had a range problem with my Goblin 770 using Spektrum DSMX original satellites and a TM1000 with a DEVO12S of course, I am very interested to give some help testing this fix.

I already have:

- Devo12S
- Spektrum DX7s
- RX1201
- Walkera Telemetry module
- Spektrum TM1000 Telemetry module
- Original Spektrum satellites
- AR8000
- AR6100e
- Orange DSMX satellites
- IKON (if necessary I can do range tests with DSMX sattellites attached)
- k-bar (same as IKON)

Anybody knows how much power uses a spektrum transmitter in range test mode? Having that info, I can perform a direct comparison.

Indigo: Could I use the last version in your repository (deviation-devo12-v4.0.1-5c8744e.zip) to perform the tests?

Ok, but how much power should I configure the devo 12s to match the same power than the spektrum in range test (-30db)? I am not sure if setting the devo to 0.1mw would be the same...
