HELP, I think the 450 clone hates me :-( was created by Lambert050584
:( So I built this 45o clone and of course crashed it before I even got off the ground. I can fly anything Walkera, but I decided to go with a Spektrum Receiver DSMX for this build. I have done everything from creating my settings from scratch, to downloading ever .ini that I could find...to even trying the Super CP settings of course with a few changes. But yet my servos won't collectively move together plus my pitch moves like normal but the heli wont come off the ground until I use a little to a lot of Right aileron.

PLEASE HELP, before I go crazy......

Just 3 of my many....THE 450 Makes me sad....

Thanks,
Chris

might be worth checking......i once accidentally activated the safety on the aileron ch on one of my quads and it acted the same way ...would only lift off when giving aileron...

It sounds like a setup issue, either in the radio or with your flybar head. Is this your first Flybar CP heli?

Yes this is my first DSMX, and my first FlyBar helicopter. I have always been a Walkera Flybarless kind of guy. But I need to start expanding my horizons and learning new things. Plus it was cheaper.

You need to get on youtube and watch some, "how to setup flybar heli" vids.

I started with walkera FBL as well, making the change to FB meant alot of study on how to get it setup. Alot of link adjustments to get things lined up right.

You also need to play with the 120 degree ccmp mix in the radio. You might need to reverse some things.

Check out the youtube vids though...

I have actually done all of that. I even built my own mix. The closest I have had it which produced some hard left flying while the pitch seemed to be controlled more by the aileron then the pitch was when I had a TREX150 .INI model template.

SO, I went back through check all my wires one by one to make sure they are in the correct spots.
1. Throttle
2. Aileron
3. Elevation
4. Rudder
5. Gyro
6. Pitch
Swash Mix is 3 servo 120
Now I have the front left as Aileron, front right as Pitch, of course behind that Elevator, and bringing up the rear is the Gyro and the Tail servo.

It has to be a transmitter thing I am guessing. If I had a actual Spektrum Tx I would use it and see what happens. Probably the same thing but at least I could rule out another variable in the large basket of variables.

NOW, My pitch reads out at:
Blades 325mm
Gap 11.34mm
Pitch -1.0
and I can see the servos moving and feel the downdraft of air, yet still no liftoff.

So is there something weird and Magical about my DSMX Receiver being controlled with a DEVO 7E. It works with my Nano CPX perfect.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A .INI FOR A 450 CLONE USING DSMX PROTOCAL????

I would go to the local hobby shop but its over and hour drive to the closest one and the guy who runs it had never even heard of Walkera until he met me.

Actually I remember seeing this and scanning over it and I even have the .INI on my TX. Now the question is how to get it to work with my 7E??? What are some KEY POINTS that I should be looking for and correcting when converting this to MY HELI and MY DEVO 7E :)

Thanks again for all the help,
Chris

At -1 degrees of pitch you will not get lift. You need around +5 or more to hold a hover, depending on how heavy the heli is.

I have a 250 clone that has the same head layout. You seem to have your servos connected the same way as I do. If you could upload your current model config, that would be helpful.

The biggest point to look for it that your swashplate moves in the correct directions. Also, as was previously mentioned, you're going to need more than 1 degree of pitch to get it off the ground.
