Thought i would start a new thread on this problem i am having..I installed the NRF24L01+PA+LNA in my devo8 and its working fine so i wanted to put the same module in my 12 and i can not get it to work..
Here is what i have tried so far to get it to work
Both the 8 and the 12 are running the same nightly builds version with the same tx ID in the hardware file..
I never powered ether module with out the antenna installed..
I soldered header pins on the PCB on both the 8 and the 12 for easy removal and soldered pins on top of the devo CYR module on the 12 for easy connecting ...

1: Both modules in the 8 work fine..
2: checked all connections on the 12 with volt meter..all good
3: copied tx hardware file from 8 to 12 ...didn't work
4: re-installed the nightly in the devo12 and the library...didn't work
5: tried both modules in the 12........didn't work
6: checked the pins on the devo cyr module with volmeter to make sure connection was getting to the bottom of the module where it plugs into the devo port..all good

7: the TMS and VCC are both showing 3.3v on the PCB and checking with a voltmeter the module is getting 3.3v on both the vcc and the tms connection , so no issues with the module not getting power...

At this point i have no idea what to try next..If anybody has had this problem please chime in and post how you resolved it,or if you have any ideas on what it could be or what i could try please post your thoughts..

any devo12 owners with the NRF24L01+PA+LNA installed please read and see if you see anything i forgot or did wrong..

Thank you...

Do know somebody with a logic analyzer? If not, look e.g. at BG for
something like that(8 channel, 24Mhz is sufficient).
You will have to look at the SPI what is different with your Devo12.

In the meantime enjoy flying with the 8.

I don't have one but i ordered one to try..guess i could use it for other things to, but i have never used one before so its going to be a bit of a learning curve probably...should have it by this weekend..

Quick update..changed the hardware file from A13 to A14
then tried the TCK pin in the 12 and it still says missing module.

This 12 is one of the early models with "Walker Devo12 V1.0" on the circuit board...don't know if that makes any difference or not...If i can't get this thing working some how gonna buy ask Santa for a newer version 12s ...lol

... there is nothing left of Walkera tx code...so that does not matter.
I assumed that it only would not bind, but missing the module? You changed the hardware.ini, did you alter the connection on the pcb too?

Working with an analyzer is not that hard, needs only four wires and a little
attention of what you are doing with the the tx, what you capture as data and
how you have setup the analyzers in the program.
Save the session and compare it to another already saved.

Yes i switched the connection on the PCB to the TSK and changed the hardware file and it does the same thing...when i power it on it says missing module..I'll try to find some info on how to use the analyzer before it gets here ..hopefully i can stumble through it and get things sorted out...

EDIT: How hard is it to hook the 4 wires up? do they hook directly to the PCB?

Thanks..

This is the description on the logic analyzer i have coming..

This is USB Logic 24M 8CH 24MHz 8Channel logic analyzer latest support 1.1.15
Sampling rate up to: 24 MHz
The logic for each channel sampling rate of 24M / s. General applications around 10M, enough to cope with a variety of occasions.

8-channel:
Logic eight inputs - can be collected at the same time they signal analysis, such as I2C, UART, sampling and analysis.

10 billion samples:
The logic can sample up to 100 100 million everything, so you capture even the most elusive events.

Voltage range:
0.8V logic: 5V voltage, to accept the 5.25 V standard CMOS threshold logic low. 2.0 V logic high. The input impedance is approximately 1 M? to see more specifications (10 pF)

Protection:
The input resistance of the over-voltage protection of the protection logic conditions, and the buffer chip. Better protect the safety of equipment.
Support for the latest version: 1.1.15 version

Best way is to (NRF)module ....

...or this way with small breadboard wires

I been reading a bit on to logic anylizer and i dont fully understand how using it is going to show why my tx is not seeing the module? It has never made it to the bind stage when i turn it on i has always said missing module. How can hooking up the anylizer work if the tx cant find he module?

Ok, that´s what you posted before:
"Well i just confirmed what i already knew...put the module from the 12 to the 8 and it binded and i could fly my cx10...so i know for sure both modules are working correctly cause they both bind and fly in my 8..."
So we know that both modules (CRF&NRF) are working.

If you hook this to the Devo8 and capture Mosi,Miso,SCLK and SS ( on the module
it is called SDI,SDO,SCK and CS, you have an example of the communication.
Doing this on the Devo12 you will see what is missing or what behaves different.

EDIT: Forgot to mention...the GND connection fom module to analyzer....

ok i think i understand...by hooking up both the 8 and the 12 i can see what the 8 is doing different to get the module to work...

Thank you so much for helping me try to figure this out i am sure i am going to need a little more help getting this sorted out before its over and hopefully this will also help others that may have the same issue later on with there transmitters...

i cant find the pin out on the cyrf module ...i dont know which pin is the CS ? got it hooked up accept the CS but on the analizer it just has DCH0 DCH1 DCH2 ect...it don't say what SDI SDO SCK and CS pins are? is there any picture of what the pins are on the cyrf module i found the mosi miso sclk just need the CS pin location..
