USB Problem Devo 10

Hi all,

I am user of Devo 10 Black Edition,
I have been read tutorial of upgrading the firmware and I try to upgrade the firmware using deviation but there is a problem, My Devo 10 not detected,

All way have been tried, like :
Plug USB cable before EXT + Turn ON
Install Driver in Devention Upgrade Tool Folder,

Device manager still not show detected of Devo,

I have been tried in linux too using command LSUSB, but the still not detected (I assume while using LSUSB every device in USB will show the information)

The transmitter working well, no problem, but I cant upgrade my Devo 10,

Anyone help me?
or have same problem with me?

You have to use the program dfuse.
Download this program from the walkera site.

You need this program for updating your devo 10.
After the update, and only after the update, you see the devo 10 in your device manager. Format and copy the necessary files.

I have been downloaded & installed dFuse,
I know for this step,

I was able to get into Program Update by hold EXT & Turn ON but windows not detect the Devo 10, so I cant do next step because in dFuse not detect my Devo,

Can anyone help me?

If you have installed dfuse, then, after connecting the devo to usb, windows should install device drivers. Noremaly this goes automatic, however i heard that sometimes windows 8 does not do this.

Download a program called "USBDeview".
Run it and search for devices > "STM32 DFU" and "STM32 Mass Storage".

Do these devices show up? If not, they are not installed.

USBDeview shows all devices which have been installed on your OS.
It shows the actual active ones and can be used to deactivate/activate, disconnect and uninstall device driver.

Point on one and use the right mouse button and you will get a submenue.
What OS are you using?

Try using ENT while turning on the Devo10. EXT activates DFU mode, ENT activates USB mass storage mode. Then format the new mass storage device and put the deviation files in as described in the manual.

I use Win 8.1 64bit,
USBDeview running well, and when I try to plug USB Flashdisk, its detected

Does ENT+Turn ON Mode will be running USB Mass Storage Mode in Default Firmware?
I try ENT+Turn ON but My Devo 10 not show different with normal Turn ON,

2black0: no, in stock FW it doesn't. You have to flash Deviation first, means: install the walkera software and use it to flash Deviation, then use ENT to enter mass storage mode and format the new drive (only first time after install, even if you went back to stock FW inbetween).

Why you don't know my problem -_-
I want to flash deviation FW but USB not detected,
it's my problem, so I can't flash the Deviation FW,

Is there other way (maybe : directly flash using ST-LINK) to flash the firmware without using USB (I assume my devo 10 usb connection is broken),

i asume you have done all this, but doing a resume:
download DfUse from the walkera site.
install dfuse.
connect your devo 10 with usb cable.
open dfuse.
hold ext button and power up transmitter.

i guess this is the point were things go wrong in your case.

normaly at this point windows should install drivers at this point and after that your devo is shown in your dfuse program.
like i said before windows 8 some times does not install the drivers. I use windows 7. So i do not know how to fix the windows 8 problem, but if this is happening in your case, you could try another computer with windows 7 or manualy instal the drivers.

I think you're pressing the wrong button.

To flash, you need to press the EXT button while turning on the Devo. THe EXT button is the one on the left of the LCD screen.

Once you successfully flashed Deviation to your Devo. Then you can enter USB mode using the right ENT button.

I am having the same problem. I got a 7E for Christmas,and there has been no joy whatever.
I downloaded and installed DfuSe from the Walkera website, it opens nicely.
When I turn on the 7E holding the EXT button, Windows 7 informs me that it is installing device driver software.
I click the "details" bubble, and find "Driver software installation STM 32 DFU Installed, STM 32 DFU Ready to Use"
Nothing appears in the DfuSe "Available DFU Devices" dropdown list.
In Device Manager, under USB DEVICES, I have STM 32 DFU.
Under "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" I can remove the STM 32 DFU, at which time it goes away in Device Manager.
Under My Computer STM 32 DFU never shows up as a device with removable storage, although that's perhaps because it's still with the original FW.
The computer sees it as a USB device, but that's as much acknowledgement as there is...nothing in DfuSE, no change in the screen on the 7E (just shows "Program Update...." and a little window half filled with vertical lines.
I have tried it on six USB ports on two computers. On my laptop there are no other USB devices connected. I have gone into device manager and uninstalled everything in USB controllers, although they reinstall on start up but at least I get to reinstall the STM 32 DFU after I've done that.
I'd like to think that I've overlooked something obvious

PROBLEM SOLVED, a third computer was the charm.
On an old XP laptop I tried the beginning to end process, download and install DfuSe, download Deviation etc and it was all EZ PZ, and now I have Deviation installed, mission done !!!
Gotta be some finger pointing...Walkera I'd think, Microsoft maybe but with fail on two Windows7 64 computers and instant love on Atom cpu XP machine sounds software more than OS...
I'm sure that tons of folks have had NO prob with DfuSe or STM32DFU on W7/64 systems, and I (me) am the common denominator regarding my two out of two that failed...wish I knew what I muddled up. Just my report, thanks.

As a follow up to the above, I wonder if the significant difference between the Windows 7 computers which didn't recognize the 7E and the XP that does is that I have used both Windows 7 computers to upgrade a Taranis to OpenTX, and thus they already had STM Bootloader in the list of devices which USBDeview shows...maybe Windows did not load a proper driver to make the 7E visible to DfuSe?

Thomas, if you still around, this step is exactly where i get stuck.
Using Windows 7, and a Devo 10 Transmitter and it once actually recognised the USB and found it needed to be formated. Then I must have answered something wrong, anyway it could not complete the formatting and everything was canceled.
Now when I remove the drivers and try again it does not recognise it as a USB drive anymore.
Its recognised by the Walkera update software just fine though.
Any idea what to do?
Anyone.

By the way this is awesome if it eventually works - is it just one guy behind this all?
