How to install Nightly!? was created by flubber
Hi,
everytime i read about "nightly, nightly,nightly"....
I installed deviation 4.x with the java updater cause DfuSe/Stm device won`t work fine. Install this was quite easy with this.

So, how to install to install Nightly with the Java 0.8.0?

Install is exactly the same. Nightlies are I guess what you'd call "beta builds", they are the latest build but not an "official release". There hasn't been an official release in quite some time, so the nightlies have a lot of stuff / fixes that have been developed/fixed since then.

Download link: www.deviationtx.com/downloads-new/category/13-nightly-builds

Download the TX specific zip (not the emu).

Unzip.

Select the .dfu file from the unzipped nightly build file like you did on DeviationTX 4.0.1.

Don't forget to also upload all the tx.ini, hardware.ini and file system files within the zip directories.
There are changes over the stable 4.0.1 file.

Same applies for the entire protocol directory on Devo7E.

ok,
BEFORE reading answers in this topic i`ve done it another way. i choose the the "install" tab and select the nighly.zip.
the tx startet with this also.
Houston i have a Problem! (and need help)

AFTER reading answers i done it again cause i thougt my way was wrong. so i choose the the dfu and replace the files. (i copy all files from the extracted .zip to the directory) and copy the models
tx started also.

BUT with booth i have a problem with my 7105 modul/Hubsan. this would not after flashing.
Before installing the new firmware versions it worked fine i start the tx and the husan was automatically bind. after stalling new firmware nothing will happend if i startt the tx.
i tryed to bind with "re-init" buttom that doesen`t effect also
after the 7105 doesen`t work i tryed and istalled different firmwares older ones (nightly and the official 4.0 (without nightly). But they does`nt work also....

I tryed the tx with my micro-mwc which use DSM2. this works. so the tx is generally working....

Please help...
(sorry for my poor english. I`m from Germany/Hamburg and english is not my daily business...;-) )

Did you edit the new hardware.ini to enable a7105?

my hardware.ini shows that (in nice green color) without changing anything of me:

;Only useful for transmitters with an after-market vibration motor
;enable-haptic=1
;
;switch_types: 3x2, 3x1, 2x2
;extra-switches=
;
[modules]
; there is no need to enable the cyrf6936 module unless
; it is wired to an alternate port. It is Enabled automatically otherwise
; enable-cyrf6936 = B12
has_pa-cyrf6936 = 0
; enable-a7105 = A13
; has_pa-a7105 = 1
; enable-cc2500 = A14
; has_pa-cc2500 = 1
; enable-nrf24l01 = A14
; has_pa-nrf24l01 = 1
; enable-multimod = A13

So you haven't enabled the A7105 in the new hardware.ini file.

You need to copy the hardware.ini file from the backup of your transmitter file system. If it didn't have one, then you need to copy the "modules" section from the old tx.ini to hardware.ini.

Basically, you have todelete the "; " from in front of "enable-a7105", and maybe from in front of "has_pa-a7105" as well, depending on the a7105 module you've installed.

Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.

Ok, ymaybe i found my issue:

is it right that nightly needs a different wiring than mine? is use this modul www.banggood.com/A7105-Wireless-RF-2_4GH...Module-p-909404.html
and wired up like the 2 pic shows.....

and i fund this post with different wiring www.deviationtx.com/forum/7-development/...io-pins?limitstart=0
and also this bitbucket.org/PhracturedBlue/deviation/w...aycomitm181091377178

which one is the correct wiring`?

ok, one step closer,
the a7105 is wired up like this: www.deviationtx.com/media/kunena/attachm...evo7Econnections.jpg
I installed deviation 4.01 with the java updater and enabled the Module in tx.in with:
enable-a7105 = A13
has_pa-a7105 = 1

After doing this the tx start up up and beginn the binding process.
BUT
it doesn`t Bind/find the Husbsan. grrrrr.....
strange thing: i tryed to change/modify the tx.ini (cause i thought maybe i wire up to a14) after writing in the tx.ini and restart in usb mode the tx.ini is shown Empty!
I tryed different things/settimgs but everytime i change somethin in the tx.ini its shown empty. i tryed to reinstall the firmware. also i run win chkdsk which told me wrong settings at the drive. so i also format the drive usn install again. but its the same issue.....

can anyone help?

Sorry to say but it has nothing to do anymore with this thread "how to install nightly".

The same happend on other threads with possible solutions / documentation changes.
I can remember mwm writing in some threads about module wiring issues, but I believe that was under a different topic (I can not remember the exact thread names).

So it is very hard to find informations on this forum from time to time, as people write about different stuff to foreign topics or threads just "explode" and content changes.

Why is it that hard on this forum sticking to threads so people can actually find the solution when they use the search functionality? :)

Please guys, move all the specific module / wiring questions / content to the threads where they actually belong (and where maybe some issues are already discuessed) or start a new one (if you can not find any single one).

That will really help others on the long run...
