Hubsan vtx frequency on other protocols

Hello all, I've been reading through the protocols and noticed that the hubsan vtx frequency select is running.

What is the likelihood that this could be ported to another protocol? I'm picturing a system that would work like the hubsan taking the frequency cards out of the vtx setup, possibly over the frsky using a receive like midelic's f802 and modifying a vtx to take the spi input.

What do you think?

There's actually a pull request for Cleanflight for this purpose right now, allowing SPI changing of the frequency. Not quite the same, but the code is there.
