Problem with Deviation V5.0.0 upgrade. was created by Gerhard
Hi Guys,
I have attempted to update my Devo 10 firmware from V4.0.1 to V5.0.0.
Steps I followed:
Downloaded the new Deviation file - V5.0.0
Unzipped the file.
Installed the new firmware on my Devo 10.
Switched my Devo 10 off and on again.
The Deviation screen came up as normal on my Devo 10.
Up to this point everything seemed to worked just fine.
But when I tried to get into the menu on my Devo 10 to select and set my preferences for my models, the screen just went blank for a few seconds and the returned to the "normal" Deviation screen.
What I tried already:
1.) Reinstalled V4.0.1 firmware and everything worked as normal again. (Access to all menu's)
2.) Followed the same firmware installation/update process again with V5.0.0 - with the same result - could not access the menu to change anything.
I repeated stems 1 and 2 for about 3 times with out any luck.
Next I reformatted my Devo 10 and tried again without any luck. (Same result as above)
I reinstall the "old" firmware (V4.0.1) sothat I can at least use my Devo 10.
Have anyone other than me experienced this. How do I get past this problem.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Ps. I am not confident using V4.0.1 any more. The reason being that I had a few nasty and costly heli crashes over the past few months. I blamed my self - "pilot" error.
But reading through the release notes (V5.0.0) it appears that "DSM2/DSMX fixes for lost binding during operation" and I don't want to spend money on rebuilding my Master CP again (or new V450D03 - No crashes yet).

I never use Aux 4 and 5 but they were both set to about the mid possession. (The same as when I tried/worked with V4.0.1)

Thank for this. I will defiantly give this a go when I get how tonight. I will turn Aux 4 and 5 to the "0" point and then try and reinstall the new firmware and see what happens.

This happens to me also, some modelico files won't load. Not sure why this is.There's probably a file error in the bmp format.

In my case it is even worse, when I hit the ENT button the screen goes completely blank before I even get to the first/any option screen.

I tried turning aux 4 and 5 down(-) then to mid possession(0) and also up(+) each time reflushing the firmware, nothing worked. In my last attempted for the evening I once more deleted all the files on my transmitter (Except the model folder). Then I re-copied all the files onto my transmitter again and it for some unexplainable reason it worked!
Tomorrow I will fly my helicopters (V120, Master CP and my new V450) and see if everything work the way it should. Thank you for your help.
My Next mission will be to try and get my "old" V977 to bind to my Devo 10 as well.
