My Devo-10 Transmitter will not format

After about a year of none use I decided to pull out my Walkera QRX 350 pro and Devo-10. I turned on the transmitter and the screen was unreadable. Changed the batteries and still the same thing. I decided to upgrade to deviation-devo10-v5.0.0. When it came to the part of the installation where i needed to format the transmitter it keeps telling me Windows unable to complete the format. It opens as either F:\ drive or E:\. I'm stuck here. Can anyone please please help me out with this?
