FDR, how'd you feel about moving all the development topics to a single category and requiring the 'Developer' user group to post there (but open to all to read)? We'd leave 'General' open to everyone
While I don't expect too many folks to come over here, I really am concerned about technical discussions being derailed as happens often on RCGroups.

OK, I will do it...

EDIT: But who is developer and who not? Who will decide? ;)

I created the developers group for nothing, because there is no way to assign view access to one group and allow to pot to another.
The only way it can be done is that the category will be closed, and all the developers should be moderators, so they could post in the otherwise closed forum...
Of course administrators can post too...

So who is developer now?

Oh, and I created the "Development" category, so you can move any thread you wish...

Thanks,
It looks like you moved the relevant ones already. Any other concerns that would prevent me from announcing the site?

I don't think all developers should be mods at the moment.
I did find this though:
joomla-extensions.kubik-rubik.de/wck-write-control-for-kunena

I think it is what I'm looking for. I have no idea how to install it though

I see there is a new version of the whole Kunena forum engine (2.0.1), which does contain the possibility to configure different read and write access to groups, so wait a little bit with that extension!

I've upgraded the Kunena forum engine to 2.0.1, so the different access levels for the development forum are now supported!

And can someone send me instructions for how to upload files as well? I need to be able to install the new releases.

And while I'm thinking about it. Is there any live-chat plugin we could use? It would make discussions like this a lot easier.
