Regarding DEVO 8S warning about recent tx

I just received my v120d02s v2/new and devo 8S combo from China and want to flash it with the newest deviation firmware. However I came across this message:
"Warning to Devo8/8s users: If you have a very recent transmitter, only the nightly builds of Deviation will work for you and it will be impossible to go back to the stock firmware until Walkera posts updated firmware on their site. If in doubt, ask on the forums first."
I searched this forum and only found one case, in which the font on tx was corrupted. Are there any other issues that can occur after flashing deviation firmware on to devo 8S?
Another question is how can I check if my transmitter is of the recent production batch?
Please excuse me, if these questions were answered already in other threads
Thanks in advance!

I think I will wait until stable release for this transmitter, because nightlys could be quite unstable.
Luckily I still have Turnigy 9x to fall back to)

The official 3.0.0 release is quite stable - you could fall back to this. But I understand that you prefer to wait...RacingSOUL wrote: ...I think I will wait until stable release for this transmitter, because nightlys could be quite unstable...

I've got a Devo 8 which doesn't have any notes near the battery. But in the chapter "About" in my system it says:
Hardware: Ver. 2.0
Software: Ver. 0.3A
Can I use the latest Deviation Firmware Version 3.0 on my Transmitter?
Thanks

Will it brick? Or will it just do nothing and run the Deviation Firmware?

You can reflash with a version (devention or deviation) which supports the new display and everything will work again.
