I fully understand what happens with a project like this. PB started this and probably thought this would be finished in a few months, maybe a year or so. I think it went way beyond his expectations and most likely became too much of a burden.

When you start a project like this, especially when it becomes successful, becomes a big responsibility. Many people start depending on it and the pressure grows. I remember his opening statement where he also mentions that he does not want to be paid for it, so he has the freedom to work on it or not.

I think he either chose to take a break or just call it a day. Hopefully he is OK and healthy and may join again to share his knowledge.

I do realize the enormous impact this must have on the developers' private lives. You guys have families that need attention, your job and then this. You must have a great passion for writing software and your families have to sacrifice.

Thanks for your dedication and expertise and thanks to your families for being so patient.

By the way, Walkera is fully aware of this project and their support team even provides a link to this project if you ask for more features. So it seems they even support it. (Not officially of course....)

If they (Walkera) could do a bit better job of supporting extra modules - convenient attachment interface, for instance - spare an extra wire, make all of these extra wires for CSN and all other SPI signals broken out to a convenient place, consider some extra space in Devo's bodies etc.

Actually I have communicated with Walkera's people, they are amazed of the Deviation. I tried to urge them to offcial support Deviation, so that they can be more competitive in the rc controller area. I also urge them to develop an open source hardware loaded with Deviation offically, but they did not have a decision yet.

No idea what happened to PB, but I really really hope he's okay.

Hmm, OK, I had just noticed there were no updates to the Deviation source in ages. I suppose there is some other repository that is being maintained now.

Look at this thread here, most of the known issues are taken care of and it is a fork of PB's repo, so that if and when he returns all the work can be submitted into a pull request.
