Power on alarm help?

I set the pwron alarm to 5 min. Alarm volume 9. The alarm doesn't come on with the radio just sitting. I am using a Devo 10.
I want to have an alarm so if i forget to turn off the radio my life won't be drained.
Can this be done?
Also what does power down alarm do? It doesn' seem to work.
I am running the lastest nightly. V 3.0.0 c960b8e

Sorry, your "latest nightly" is nearly a half year old. But the mechanism should not have changed.
Take a look at your media/sound.ini in section [shutdown].

Your nightly build is wayyyyy too old!
consider update to release v4.0.1 first

I upgraded to Nightly 4.1. What are the correct settings for the sound.ini file?
Under Shutdown it has a setting of Vol=30. It that correct?
The alarm is still not working. I shut it for 1 min just to test,
