I'm just finally diving in with learning Deviation on my 7e so excuse me if this subject has been covered before. Searches didn't turn up what I'm looking for.
I find that building, editing, and even understanding settings via the limited GUI real estate that the Devo TXs provide, especially on my 7e, can be challenging. The PC emulators are great but don't address the GUI size issue. Does a universal PC editor exist that can utilize the GUI power of a desktop OS? This is an issue I've always faced as a musician working with devices that have limited LCD screens and dedicated panel buttons. A good PC editor can make a huge difference in understanding inter-related settings by being able to display many of them at once.
Alternately, can I edit an INI file for the 7e with an emulator of a Devo that has a larger, more capable screen yet still keep it targeted to the 7e?
Thanks,
---- Gary ----

This should be possible.
Deviation 4.01 models are essentially compatible.
Just avoid using switches that do not exist on the 7e.
Once you have a basic model, changing some values with a text editor like notepad++ shouldn't be to difficult.
Tom Z has made many models that are working on any deviation TX.
Maybe he can give some editing tips.

Such an Editor would be nice but I am not aware of one.stringrazor wrote: Does a universal PC editor exist that can utilize the GUI power of a desktop OS? A good PC editor can make a huge difference in understanding inter-related settings by being able to display many of them at once

Thanks. I need the GUI to help me understand the settings right now. Once I understand them, of course editing the ini file directly will be the most expedient method.
I have a ways to go before I can read The Matrix code directly.
