Question about throttle hold.
I have been flying micros all winter and now am getting the larger helis ready. Specifically the Master CP as it is the one I am going to use as an example. For this question i am using the Devo 10 and its corresponding manual. The standard GUI provides for throttle hold. I have been studying tom's sample models specifically the one for the master CP. His examples use the advanced mixer and also the complex mixer but have no provision for throttle hold (that I can find).
I prefer having throttle hold for larger helis so this is a problem for me. What was the reasoning for skipping throttle hold? Is there an option I have missed? I plan to build my own models using tom's for examples but I want throttle hold.

Tom usually has throttle hold set to the RUD D/R switch.
If you read his ini file you'll see it there.

I overlooked that because I use the right side of the transmitter for throttle hold. Rudder D/R just flew by and I was not watching.

All of my helicopter models have TH on the RUD D/R switch. TH is a must for helicopters. You can assign TH to any switch you like but I have found that most people including myself like to have TH on the RUD D/R switch.
Here is an example of TH on one of my Walkera models in advanced mixer.
[channel3]
safetysw=RUD DR1 (Assign this to any switch you want the TH on)
safetyval=-100 (Use a value of -100). See this post on why to use this value: deviationtx.com/forum/how-to/1226-how-to...s-on-custom-firmware )
You can also assign TH to the switch you want using the standard GUI.
I have made some models with TH on the RUD D/R switch using the standard GUI.
Here is an example:
[channel3]
safetysw=!RUD DR0
safetyval=-100

Thanks tom, somehow I missed the definition of safetyswitch. I have to go back to the manual and look that up.
In the standard GUI is a section for throttle hold. There you can turn it on and assign a switch. This is similar to other transmitters so that is what I saw and recogonized.
