V450D03 and Devo7 Gear Switch Issue was created by Drumwzrd
I'm new to the Devo line of controllers and recently bought a V450D03 with Devo 7 controller. I also purchased a fuselage that has retracts so I wanted to use the "gear" channel on the receiver. I bought 2 generic servos from Ebay and both do nothing when the gear switch is activated so I assumed they were the wrong type or voltage. I bought a Walkera servo and have the same issue. I have battled my way through the programming and the "gear" switch is set to "gear" and "act". Am I missing something or do I have a bad receiver?

Thank you for any help. I am ripping my hair out on this one.

There are a couple of open questions here:

- do you use stock Walkera firmware or deviation?
- how did you connect the servos to the Walkera RX?

If I look at the RX2703H-D receiver, it seems like the other plugs are not connected really, so you cannot connect anything else to this receiver.

I checked this document: www.walkera.com/en/productinformation/V450D03_EM.pdf

In section 5.2 you have a table of the receiver functions. The <not used> for the rest of the slots indicates you cannot use them.

That is the strangest thing. I have that receiver but here is what mine looks like. Note the "gear" slot:

Also I bought 2 cheap Tower Pro 9G servos. When I plugged 1 into the slot, you can feel a click in the servo each time you flip the gear switch but no movement. Tried the other and it became really hot. Then tried the Walkera servo and it does nothing....no click or anything. I guess that I don't have the gear option and it was a misprint on the receiver?

That is strange. Maybe there is no signal line linked to those slots. Where did you buy that?

I see some of the RX2703H-D receivers have a "Gear" slot and others don't.

I bought the kit on Ebay from some supplier in Texas. It was brand new with the Devo 7, V450D03, battery and charger.

It seems everyone has some different configuration printed on the decal. Even on mine, the "gear" logo looks bold as if it was added after the fact.

So.....with that said, I'll assume I have no gear option. Now, what receiver should I buy that has the gear option active? The Devo7 controller has all of the programming options already in it so I just need a receiver that actually has the gear channel?
