Devo 7E issue was created by AtlasAxe
I'm looking for some help with my Devo 7e, and would appreciate any assistance I can get. I have installed an XL7105-D03 and performed a diode mod. I've attached a picture of the install.
Since the install, I've had problems with the power switch on the transmitter. Here are the symptoms:
1. Initially, when powered off, I had to hit a key to turn the unit off. For example, I'd turn off the power and the screen would stay on until I pressed the ENT or EXT key.
2. I found after experimentation that it would stay on past key press if this was performed multiple times, and the only power-off solution was to pull the battery.
3. I upgraded to the nightly build yesterday, and now this behavior is 100% consistent - I always have to pull the battery.
4. When I power back on, I receive the message "Battery too low, can't save!"
I can change settings while it's on, I can change models, and the transmit functions work fine. I haven't range tested the range mod yet.
What you can't see in the photo, because they are on the other side of the 7105 module, is that I connected 6-9 and 7-8 on the module, per the module guide for post-4.0.1 firmware. I did this deliberately so I wouldn't have to go back and change it in the future, and I wanted some of the nightly build functionality anyway.
Also of note, ground is connected to the header on the main board, not to the tx module. Don't know if this might be an issue.
It's acting like some form of capacitance is the issue, although it's interesting that pulling the battery does turn the unit off, which leads me away from that.
Any thoughts? Anyone see anything similar?
Regards,
Dennis

Sorry for the photo delay. Couldn't figure out what was wrong, ended up my original was too large for upload.

I found the cause thanks to Daryoon on RC Groups. Looks like it's either a bad battery in a brand new set of eneloops or a bad charger. It threw me because immediately after the first message, I replaced the batteries that came with with the brand new set and the behavior didn't change. Lesson learned - check your battery voltage.
