This might be the solution to your problem:
Fresh Install has Blank White Screen on Reboot? (Dev7e)

How to upgrade Devo TX to Deviation Firmware
NOTE:
On the official release version 4.0.1, USB drive mode is activated from 3rd item on main menu like in the how to videos.
However, in the more recent monthly builds eg. v4.0.1-92e1705 (Aug 1 nightly), USB drive mode is activated by holding down ENT button while you power on the transmitter. This new method will apply to all future releases.

Hi Thanks
I have followed the utube instructions
and I see that it shows 10 items on the ram rom drive
mine appears to be 2 meg
and I only get 8 files
comparing it with the video I am missing two one called media and the other protocol
im using the dfuse upgrade
I have done all I can including verifie update and took the last 2days in playing but still with no screen
am I right in assuming the two files missing is my problem
the drive was clean when I got to programme it
I did get the files from the downloads and removed the files that was directed to
any further help
I have been given a devo 8 this to has other problems but I will start a new topic
regards Carpe

Media contains the font files used for displaying text on screen, so yes that would be the reason for the blank screen. Protocol is used by Devo7e only.
I see that the Devo12 release is missing the media folder.

Download the Devo12 emulator from here:

Copy the media folder from that. It's located in filesystem\Devo12

That's because it's in the library DFU. This is unique to the 12, but it's important to remember to flash both the firmware and the library.
