I am building FT Explorer whch requires Park 370-425, 1000 kv (min). This is the minium requirement, I do not know if 370 is min. and 425 max. I am confused. I wnat a little bit more powerfull for future proofing as well. Please suggest for me one in the range of 370-425 and one a bit higher.Thanks.

Not sure if it will suit the Explorer, but after much discussion elsewhere I chose the D2826-6 2200kv for my flitetest pods. Can't remember if I'm running 5x5 or 6x4 props, basically running smaller props faster.

[EDIT] Just checked, actually running 7x4

Seems I lost my reply somewhere...
I have no idea what those terms mean, and how to decipher/translate flitetest's motor sizes to other suppliers, so I went to experienced fliers to suggest a motor for my purposes. My aussie foamboard (heavier and denser) version of the FT Duster was barely flyable using the old trusty DT750 (750kv workhorse), lots of power but no speed, which seemed to be required to keep this thing stable. Now it rockets along, but also slows down nicely.

I think the "370" etc refers to ye olde days of brushed cans, I believe my Tamiya Frog and Hornet both use a 370 brushed

It requires a 8x4.5 or 9x6 prop running at 11100rpm (=1000kv, 3s). You need motor that can run this prop. In my opinion it seems overpowered.
You can use this one : www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__1292...Brushless_Motor.html
(i use it on my quad with a SF 8x4.7)
Or go for the 2200 (have it on a bixler, don't remember the prop)
According to hobbyking ( www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/ebasic.asp ), for a sport flyer, you need 100w/1lb (=493g), this means with 200w you can have a 1kg plane
