ER250 receiver recommendation was created by ursus69
Hi all!

I have a Devo7e with modules and I will have a Eachine Racer 250 soon. What RX recommend me to use with?
A friend can leave me a D4R-II or X4Rsb....Or what RX recommends to buy??

Thanks!

Depends on your FC. Best bet (for now) if your FC can do SBUS is the new OrangeRx modules with sbus support. They use the DSM protocol, no extra rf module required. If it doesn't do SBUS, then the D4R-II is probably best, as the FrSk X protocol hasn't been implemented. They use FrSky protocol, and need a CC2500. The X series receivers can do SBUS, but we don't have support for them in the nightly build yet (soon, I hope). The non-EU ones can do the D series protocol, but telemetry is odd, and that may also break SBUS (unlikely, but who knows) so I'd stay with the D series. They'll also require a CC2500.

PWM,PPM,SBUS (non inverted), telemety and RSSI via PWM or with SBUS on channel 9 to the flightcontroller (for an OSD)... ;)

Edit: . not a 1. April joke, just a typo... ...lol

I believe LemonRx is independent, where OrangeRx is a Hobby King brand. They did their own implementations of the DSM2/DSMX protocols (possibly borrowed from deviation but they aren't admitting it). Early Rx's from both had problems and are best avoided. It's not clear the LemonRx ones are past that yet. I'm not sure they have SBus output, for that matter.

The OrangeRx Rx of choice seems to the be 620X Sbus version - if they're in stock.

The first one. The 6 and 7 channel versions both have 12 channels via SBus, so the only thing missing is one possible PWM channel and a little weight. The CPPM version is only 9 channels (and I'd be careful if you wanted to use all 9 because of the framing issues I mentioned). The FrSky D-series receivers are generally better if you want CPPM - they have better range, their telemetry is full range rather than 20% of the control range, and they weigh less than half what the orangeRx receivers weigh. They do require a CC2500 and don't have the option of getting both CPPM and PWM output.

Edit: forgot to add that you can find the manuals for most HK products in the files section of the version from the international warehouse! I'd check there.

The 720X is bigger and heavier than the 620X, but has one more channel of PWM output. With 12 channels of SBUS, the extra PWM channel seems unlikely to be used, but smaller and lighter on an aircraft is almost always a win.
