7E Poor range with NRF24L01 PA LNA was created by slo_rider
Hello... my 7E currently has the A7105, NRF24L01, 2x3 switches mods completed and working good. About a week ago I did the range mod to unlock full range of the CYRF6936 module. I removed the resistor and bridged it with solder.

Tested and worked my DSMX range was much improved. However, the next time I flew using the NRF24L01 protocol, I found my range was really bad like ~35-45ft. I rewired both ends of the existing module, no change. I thought it could have been a bad PA, so I ordered another module w/o antenna from BG US and swapped it. I removed the pins and soldered all connections like I have before, reused the same antenna with the IPX connector.. tested and getting about the same poor range.
I have on order two high gain antennas and an ipx to rp-sma adapter to replace the NRF24L01 and stock antennas.
Any other suggestions what could by causing the poor range?
Here's a recent vid from an fpv h8 mini showing how great my range used to be.
around 2:15 I start going out pretty far
Thanks!

I'm thinking the built in module might be interfering with the nRF24L01? Just a guess...

That does seem like a possibility, but I thought that it only powers one module at a time. I did not use any additional shielding when installing the modules. Is there a way to test for interference?

Why would it be interfering ? Aren't unused modules switched off ?
is your NRF24 tx shielded ?

No, I did not use shielding on the NRF24 module... But I recently replaced the antenna with a high gain antenna and it seems to be working better now.

Don't use that cheap module.
Me and many people archived the same issue, even it's shielded with tin foil.
