17670's?! Are there protection circuits on them?

Where did you get them?

Found a brand new never used Toshiba battery, roughly 10 years old or so.

Pulled the cells out, most of them were like 50mV.

Charged each one with USB LiIon charger to 3.8V then balanced them in my DIY 2S cradle.

I doubt they are protected but why is the protection needed? The firmware has a low voltage warning, and the charger has overcharge protection either.

I was just wondering cause 17670 is a strange size (not unheard of but not common either) and I have a flashlight that takes max Ø = 17mm but also max length is 65mm so I thought maybe if there's a protection circuit they might actually be 17650's and that'd make them another option I could look for in my never-ending search for more cells to fit this damn thing.
