Devo 6 vs Devo 6s vs Devo 7e

Hi All!

I purchased a Devo 7e from eBay. I got a Devo 6, instead.

What is the difference between a 6 and a 6s? I can't seem to find a plain 6 online.

Which is the best transmitter to use for Deviation?

What about transmit power? Can I do a diode mod on Devo 6?

Turn the box around, they use the same box. I was also like wtf when i got my 7e. Although with them sharing the box I guess it's possible someone screwed up and sent you a radio that is 2-3 times the price.

If you really did get a 6 (most likely a 6s), congrats it's a better radio. It's full power out of the box so no need for mod.

The "S" was marketed as an update with telemetry, but I never have figured out if there is a physical difference between the S and non-S modules, which are used in the 6, 8, 10 and 12, or whether it was purely software related.
I personally have a "6" branded one.

6 is FAR the better than the 7E, the only negative being sunlight readability, which a high-contrast theme can help with (but not totally eliminate). More powerful processor, full-power socketed module, more switches in stock form and even more in modified form. Note however that though the module is full power, it is not tied to a gained antenna, so that's one thing that can be upgraded (for a couple of bucks) to give more range.

6/6S is getting ultra-rare now so you REALLY got lucky.

It was a 7e - I was looking at the wrong side of the box.
