Need only 2 Modules is switch usefull? was created by brummel
Hi , I'am here again:)
I fried my PA off the 4 in 1 module and how ever I decided to use only the CC2500 and the NRLF.
So my plan is to install only this and remove the Cyrf:
CC2500
And this:
NRLF
Do these boards receive Telemtry? Are they good with internal 3dB antennas?
Instead of using the 3/4in 1 module ?
Do I need a switch?
Working platform: Devo 7e Ultimate:woohoo: done by me:)
Best regards

My understanding is that they switch on and off using the cable select code, which is why you wire and define a dedicated wire to each one. As long as all of your models use these protocols and not devo/dsm, should work fine?

You are right and I was impacient due to my blown expensive 4in1 module.
I decided to use only a NFRL + a CC2500 Module and the range should be ok if I put the antenna of the CC2500 out of the receiver.
But If I remove the DSM module there are some issues I have to care for?
Best regards

I didn't get a definitive answer when I asked a related question a while ago, about whether the cyrf module's amplifier turns off if you select another protocol
internal-cyrf-module-does-it-turn-off
But if you physically don't have it installed then I don't think there should be any problems.. Actually, you might need to disable the cyrf module by putting a semicolon in front of it in the hardware.ini, otherwise you might get a "missing module" error; I've never used other modules or edited that part of the hardware.ini, so don't have experience with any of the potential module issues

what ive read in the last decades in this forum, i think its not possible to use deviation without cyrf module...you always get "missing module" (semicon doesnt help i think)
i hope anyone can tell for sure

From how I read that other thread, if you've pre-selected a model that doesn't use the cyrf (and you won't be using a cyrf model in the future), you do still get the "missing module" no matter what on bootup, but once booted you can cancel it by hitting Ent and continue on your way.
