Good power source / pin for pololu was created by brummel
Helllo,

my soldering skills are good enough to replace the MCU of a Devo 7e with a god tutorial. THX to slipstream.
But my understanding for trace circuits is far low and I like to ask before damaging something.

My NFRL and my C2500 drains to much power so i can not use the PA's . 10mW Its all.
I read already that the built in voltage regulator does not supply enough juice for further modules.
The solution is : Regulator

Hmm will this work until 4.1 ?

At next I looking for a good 5V source / pin at this pcb.
Is my choice Ok?

Regards

Used Slipstream's picture thx

I don't think that is a good choice for regulator, it has minimum input voltage of 5.3v according to your link.
I would suggest pololu step up/step down
www.pololu.com/product/2118
or
www.pololu.com/product/2122

and follow wiring in this thread www.deviationtx.com/forum/6-general-disc...-vreg-to-my-7e#58489

Resistor (marked with red square) on the above pololus will need to be removed from pololu for shutdown to work correctly.
If using the adjustable pololu check output voltage before connecting rf modules.

THX Gerry,

good news, my regulator from BG works still with 4,2V !. Tested with a Boldclash AIO camera.

My reg's have no voltage sensing for shut down. I can use directly the input pin's from the battery , but then my reg is always on and drains the battery.

Is my intended pin of my first post or the the yello cable in Gerrys post usable?

When I added modules to my 7e the pololu was the best solution I could find as it does not add any load to the 7e circuitry. Your proposed solution will still add load to the devo circuit. I am not an engineer and have no idea how much current can be pulled from your intended pin without causing harm.

I think the whole power circuit on the 7e is a little fragile and would avoid adding any extra load if possible, the pololu connected to battery with shutdown on your intended pin achieves this.

I understand you already have regulators from BG but for the few extra bucks the pololu costs you get better insurance that your 7e won't fail. Why risk it! Safety first!

Sorry the second regulator was a big fail.
The reg. doesn't shut down on switch off, checked it with a temporaly connected AIO camera.
There was a solution about removing a pull up resistor but i can't locate it on my board.

Next solution?

The resistor marked with red square should be the one.

THX again, but I wasn't shure.
With a bumping heart I removed the resistor and success - my camera shut down.

Great forum.
