Problem with Jumper T8SG 2.0 Plus was created by erich
Hi,
I've been upgrading the Fw of my T8SG 2.0 plus on my PC and mac for months but now USB is not recognized nor DFU mode.
I tried on 3 different computers, with 3 different USB cables but it is no longer working.
The radio does work fine but USB/DFU on PC/MAc nothing happens radio is not detected.
Is there anything I can do (any chip that could be changed etc..)?
Thanks
Eric

Try reset connector from RF module to mainboard. Also, inspect soldering points for USB connector and main connector cable.

Hi again,
I exchanged some emails with Jumper support.
Last resort would be to change the MCU but before that they do suggest using STLINK.
They unfortunately just dropped some fancy words like STLINK BOOTLOADER telling me they cannot help any further and I should check on the internet...nice....
Can someone please direct me to some info I could use. I just need to know what to buy and how to use it. I guess I need to hook the STLINK module to the usb port of the Jumper in order to reload some piece of software? Do I need this piece of software from Jumper (I asked them they did not answer).
Thanks a lot
Eric

Hi again,
I bought the STLINK, I understand I need to hook it up to the programming pins in the T8SG and use devo7ebootloader_256.bin?
Can someone please help me and give more details?
Thanks

@erich it is ok for you when i using you thread for troubleshoting?
where connect the STLINK on the device board?
I have checked with my continuity tester the wiring from the USB Port and on the motherboard have only 3 lines connection, Data +, Data - and GND
However, USB has 4 lines connection.
After my research is missing +5 volt line.
the T8GS-v2-plus has a battery, I am not sure if this +5 volt line connection is needed?
Is there a pictures of the boards layout or schematics?

This is very good blog and used the procedure for my both U7E, it should work for your Jumper ?
silpstream.com/103/ultimate7e-flashing-the-bootloader/
However if the Tx had been operational before, I would highly doubt it is possible to damage the bootloader. (I have never seen it happen or seen reports that it happened)
Is there nothing wrong with your buttons etc? Or possibly just with the usb lines wiring to the mcu? You could try to probe it for continuity.

@lostie yes sure no pb to use this thread
@Fernandez thanks for your answer. Actually this is the Jumper support people who told me about STLINK as per my issue with my Tx and they gave me the very same article as the one you are referring to.
Problem is that I don't know how to do the same with the T8SG as I don't know where Boot0 and power switch bypass are located.
The MCU is not the same as 7e and I could not find any board layout for the T8SG showing Boot0 and power switch bypass.
@lostie I am as stuck as you are, without any proper directions / board layout I can't use the tutorial mentioned by Fernandez.
I will probably end up buying a new MCU....

This may help you:
www.deviationtx.com/forum/7-development/...board?start=40#59713
Possibly with a very thin needle and magnifying glass you may be able to probe direct to the cpu.
To clarify:
your TX runs fine, just no USB connection, no drive, no bootloader. Than to me it is the usb line/port itself, assuming you get the bootloader in your display if buttonpress and start tx.

Thanks, will check your link.
You're right Tx is working fine, only (big) issue is that Usb / DFU mode no longer accessible
