media/voice.ini corrupt was created by Bastich
Hi all
I recently tried to get the voice samples working on my T8SG v2 plus (Carbon).
It is using firmware: t8sg_v2_plus-v5.0.0-e801244
I was initially successful and tried a couple of different voice packs. Unfortunately the voice.ini file i the media folder on board the transmitter is now showing as being 0 bytes in size and refuses to be deleted, renamed or overwritten which has totally broken any voice config
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this. Everything else works perfectly on the transmitter..

Try with check disk in Windows. But the best would be to copy whatever you could rescue and quick format the virtual drive. Remember to safely remove the device from the PC and press enter to finish the USB mode in the remote to avoid corruption in the future

Thanks for the advice I will try that later tonight. I always get a bit nervous formatting embedded drives incase it fails and effectively bricks the transmitter. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan.

I did check disk.
It fixed an error.
I rebooted my radio.
Now I only get a black screen

Strange, can you boot holding enter? can you flash that special version that formats holding "back"?

Thanks again
Starting in USB mode with enter + power has enabled me to fix it.
The voice pack I was using was crashing the radio during boot.
As soon as I removed the media/voice.ini file it started up correctly.
These are the names of the 2 voice packs which break it:
425-voice_EN_Moira_Chad
428-voice_EN_Samantha_Chad

Great! I experienced that problem a lot until I started removing it "safely". Anyways, I created improved voice packs with Google Wavenet engine:

Also, how do you use the voices? Only on the switches?
Because I am thinkering on an enhancement on how the sounds are played (I like them to be skippable and also not repeat everything all the time when switching fast)> (skip to 2:25) but I need feedback. So, I am open for comments, if you have any

I was just starting to get it setup on switches before having voice pack issues.
No matter what I do with the 2 mentioned voice packs it always has the same problem.
If I put the other original voice pack I have back it works but sounds bad / missing certain samples I want.
Or I can just delete the media/voice.ini file and not have any (but working).
I will try your one out in a bit.
Thanks for all your help

Sorry bad is not a actuate description.
It was more that I could not find anything for crash flip or a few others obscure samples.
I may see if I can get a custom sample set setup now I have a better idea how it works.
I have 2 voice actors I am using for a video game which will probably help once I have a list together.
