Devo 7E CS/SS & Mosi Pads

The MOSI and CS/SS pads came off the board when i unsoldered the stock module, and so im wondering if there are any other pads i can solder the Devo module to? Or can i scratch away at the pads to reveal the copper beneath?

You can try following the traces, but chances are that you'll have to solder to the traces directly. However, If you managed to take the big pads off, the traces will come off even easier.. your iron may be too hot.

Have you done any similar SMD / PCB type soldering before? I'd suggest you get out some broken electronics and practice a bit before going back to the devo, get your temp and amount of flux dialed in better.

Also remember, it's almost always best to add a bit of your new solder your working with to the old joint before trying to separate it (be it two wires, a wire to a via, a component to a pad or whatever). The fresh solder won't properly liquidity and mix with the old solder till it's hot all the way threw, this way you can see exactly when it's totally liquid and you don't rip pads / traces off pulling to soon.

Also, what type of tip are you using? Conical / points are the worst for this type of soldering, try a wedge it a spade shape or even flat if it's all you have. And always always use a good liquid flux, even on already soldered connections and pre-tinned pad!

Yes im betting my cheap iron is too hot, but i was just trying to revive an already dead 7E so im not too bothered in buying new soldering kit just to fix it. I have done small stuff like this before no problems. I think the pads came off as i didnt want to hold the iron on there too long and get it too hot.

Well, no. The traces are beneath the original module. Take a high resolution picture of your actual damaged board.
