Devo 12s 3in1 / 4in1 RF module neat installation.

goebish wrote: The problem with the E010 protocol (or any XN297L protocol running at 250kbps) is that it requires a crystal accuracy of 20 ppm as stated in the XN297L datasheet. The 3-in-1 / 4-in-1 are using 40 or 60 ppm crystals because that's what is stated in the nrf24l01 datasheet ( www.deviationtx.com/forum/protocol-devel...-q303?start=40#55616 ), but that's not accurate enough. Some units have better tolerance, that's why not everyone has the problem.
A possible fix is to replace the loading capacitors that are located around the nrf24l01 crystal to trim it (15pF, 0402 package):

Okay, thanks for the "lighting". I think I have understood. So it is well possible that with another E010 my 3in1 works reliably. Equally it is possible that the 4in1 with my E010 likewise not works, because the tolerance of the components is too large, right?

I think ajtank reported the problem and it should be fixed in a future revision, don't ask me when, I've no idea.

So I would like to wish you luck with the ordered 4in1 module and the lottery game has an end.

I solved the problem, like this .
I removed the e010 canopy and took the antenna out in almost vertical position(it was horizontal laying on the board).Additionally I found that the multiprotocol antenna was faulty and i changed it.
The result .... no more problems. Before doing something drastically try these small tweaks.

It's incredible! I could solve with your suggestion the problem with my E010. The control works at least 10mW and within a room. Certainly, this measure will not suffice to fly through several rooms, but it bridges the wait time until the 4in1 module arrives. In advance, I can already mount the necessary 2.4GHz antenna.
Thanks again.

Basically the NRF24l01 chip in all the 3in1 is either a clone or has some sort of defect in it. I have the same problems and even other toy quads will fly funny with it.
So, to everyone out there, DO NOT BUY the 3in1!
Hi jayodas,
When did you get your 3in1 ? I don't have this problem with both my 4in1 and 3in1, could it be possible that's caused by some batch of nRF24L01 chip?

This means that the connection is also available in all rooms in my apartment. However, no AIO cam has yet been mounted on the E010.
I will use a 5dBi WLAN Omni antenna and hope that then no problems occur (even with full FPV expansion)
Best regards

I didn't pay much attention before, but I'm pretty sure they used to stay solidly lit, or at least flash faster than I could detect. I used "set spektrum_sat_bind = 9" in Betaflight/Raceflight CLI and performed the rest of the binding procedure as usual. The flicker makes me wonder if I'm having continuous micro/milli-second signal dropouts, which will undoubtedly cause lots of problems. I did a range test in my neighborhood and didn't get as far as I thought I should, but I've never done the test this way before so I'm not sure how it compares to the original module.
Is there something wrong, or is this normal?

For both I needed to clear the fixed ID and bind, then repeat the cycle to set a fixed ID.
Power on the TX, clear your fixed ID, then power on the quad and use the CLI command as you did before (probably doesn't matter much, I have been using "set spektrum_sat_bind = 7"). It will reboot and reconnect, so disconnect and power everything down. Power on the TX and then the quad and the sat blinks fast, hit bind on the Devo. After a few seconds the light should go solid. Power off the quad, give it a few seconds, then power up. It should bind with a solid light.
Power everything down, then bring up the TX and set your fixed ID. Then repeat the process starting with the CLI command.

I don't think this is an issue with the 4-in-1, because I repeated the issue on my Devo 6s with a multimodule board as well as a 4-in-1 equipped 12e.

Ahhh, thank you so much, that got it. Not sure what that was all about, but this seemed to fix it. Strangely, I had to pick an entirely new fixed ID or the rapid flashing would come back even after clearing it and getting it to bind with a solid LED. Any idea what the flashing indicates? I went flying earlier today before applying the fix and didn't notice any range issues at all.

Hi dc59, I bought my 3in1 in July 2016 and it is installed in my Devo 7e. I have a second Devo 7e with this standalone NRF24l01 installed and it flies all my quads including several Eachine e010 perfectly.
Maybe I could try to change capacitors as Geobish as mentioned at this post
www.deviationtx.com/forum/7-development/...ule?start=1160#58976
It should be located here for 3-in-1:

With me it worked (almost like a miracle) ...

just finished 4in1 for Devo 7e !
I have a big problem with PA, it doesn't work ! Only for DEVO/DSMX (CYRF6936) protocols I have good range (same as stock WK-DEVO-S-MOD).
I have solder the wires using this set up :
www.deviationtx.com/media/kunena/attachm.../1511/4in1wiring.jpg
This is my wiring :
drive.google.com/open?id=0B2ETpS9VxovVYWJPTEtwQVRVenc
Everything work fine , I can bind Flysky, Frsky, DSMX, (don't have others to bind) I can see all protocols in deviationtx 5.0 (no asterisk * ), I have change the Hardware.ini with every possible combination (off course I delete ; )
I am using this now :
; enable-cyrf6936 = B12
; has_pa-cyrf6936 = 1
enable-a7105 = A13
has_pa-a7105 = 1
enable-cc2500 = A14
has_pa-cc2500 = 1
enable-nrf24l01 = A15
has_pa-nrf24l01 = 1
; enable-multimod = A13
I have install again and again deviationtx 4.0.1 - 5.0 - nightly builds
Check triple check wires - solder - connections
I have 6.19V to 4in1 module using 2s Li-Fe 6.6V
Losing signal at 4-5 meters in 150mW (choosing less mW meters decrease)
I have 2 4in1 modules ! Same results ! I bought them from Banggood www.banggood.com/CC2500-NRF24L01-A7105-C...07.html?rmmds=search
I have external antenna (antenna mod)
I have 3x2 switch mod

Does this still require testing? I have a Devo 7E with an updated CYRF module plus A7105 and nRF24L01 modules. I am happy to test it but I am not sure if first of all that's still necessary and also which nightly I should flash.victzh wrote: Now as the module is not available yet it is important that we test that these modifications work for TXs WITHOUT it, with traditional modules, either 4-in-1, or separate, or multimodule. If you can, install mentioned Nightly Builds on your TX and see is it OK.
