PhractuedBlue, if you need one I have extra. I ordered couple from taobao and it took eternity to come here. So if you don't want to wait that long I have one. It is defective and while nRF issue may be fixed by removal of strong pull up on TXEN, the A7105 just not routed to TXEN at all.

You probably want a module with fixed NRF24L01 issue, right? :-)

I thought that 3-in-1 was OK without any issue while 4-in-1 got several

No, the guy who made them explicitly said that he tested them only with A7105 and nRF24L01 unidirectional protocols. CYRF6936 (for 4in1) and CC2500 he tested for both directions. And I think he got lucky with nRF24L01 - his schematics is almost correct so even for protocols that require bidirectional communication it work on short distance. As there are no telemetry for nRF based protocols, he did not tested this.

He promised to test both TX and RX for every chip in the second version and ordered equipment for this (I don't know what exactly). So it all delays the shipment of correct working modules, but if we finally have them they would be very useful addition.

Disclaimer: I'm not connected to the production of these modules in any way, I just wrote to this guy and he answers.

Thanks for the clarification. I noticed that he mentioned the shorter distance with several protocols. And I felt puzzled why he blamed the manufacturers for setting the limitation ;-)

Whom do you mean exactly? The guy who made the modules? I have not seen this comment about manufacturers limiting anything.

On that 3-in-1 Taobao page, in Chinese.

"....NRF24L01( 伟力V977电直,KN协议,地面距离200M以上,驰远HCP100S电直,HISKY协议,地面距离70米左右,该协议是厂家提供给DEVIATION项目,厂家似乎做了限制,测试过其他三四种模块,距离也只有30到70米)..."

NRF24L01 (Weili V977 electric straight, KN agreement, 200M distance above the ground, Chi Yuan HCP100S electricity straight, HISKY agreement, about 70 meters from the ground, the protocol is provided by the manufacturer to DEVIATION project, the manufacturers seem to have been restricted, tested other thirty-four kinds of modules, only 30-70 meters distance)

DEVO 10 - Multi-module with nRF24L01 +PA +LNA, A7105 +PA, & CC2500 +PA +LNA transceivers.
Nightly Build: v4.0.1-548bbf5 (6/9/2015)

Google translation needs some deep learning capability before it can be trusted :)

NRF24L01 (Weili V977 electric heli, KN protocol, more than 200M ground distance, Chi Yuan HCP100S electric heli, HISKY protocol, about 70M ground distamce, this protocol is provided by the manufacturer to DEVIATION project, the manufacturer seems to have restricted the distance, tested other 3 or 4 modules, all had the distance of only 30-70 m)

I can read Chinese,it's mean:
NRF24L01 RF test , with WLtoys V977 heli & KN protocol , range is 200M above(as I know, it's due to environmental limitation), but with Hisky HCP100S & Hisky protocol (as he know, this protocol is provided by Hisky,is it correct?) range is only 70M due to Hisky limit the range, the seller tested with few different NRF24L01 modules all got same result ,range is only 30M~70M with Hisky protocol.

I think I understand, that's because V977 and KN protocol (same one...) is 250kbps, HiSky is 1Mbps, hence the better range with the former. It has nothing to do with the manufacturer of the board.

i am chinese
i don't have hisky but for the other protocols i have tested with my 3in1 , they are every bit as good, if not better than using individual modules.
forget the current 4in1, it is only meant for those non walkera-deviation users.
eagerly waiting for the upcoming 4in1 tought that also including cyrf.
hopefully the maker can solve the overheat issue

Does the 3-in-1 BG version have PA for all modules?
And what is it about this "power issue" wth Devo 7E in BG product description? Maybe it would require some standalone powering (like a vreg from battery or smth)?

Have a nice day,
rasqba

The guy who made the module is asking about telemetry protocols for nRF24L01 to be able to test them. To the best of my knowledge there are none, but some of them use auto-acknowledge which also stops working when LNA is absent.

What we can propose to him to test on?

I would try to bind with CX10 (blue pcb) / CX10-A at a distance, as the TX is waiting for a response from the aircraft to complete bind.
Seems it fails most of the time with current 4-in-1 module.

edit: that's just what I've read on RCG, I ordered a 4-in-1 but haven't received it yet.
