well the majority have spoken and it looks like permanent timer was the looser, but out of the kindness of my heart (lol not really as my buddy wants the permanent timer on his one and neither of us plan to use the multimodule) i will make three builds available, one with no permanent timer(noperm), one with no layout editor(nolayout), and one with no support for the new multimodule board(nomulti). these as always are in the first post.
if you find any bugs post here or on bitbucket, and as always enjoy your flying guys

Well I think telem layout perm timer are all not that important
I switch to the new Devo 10 I think there is a big different between devo 7e and devo 10 which is the resolution of the gimbal.
Can devo 7e resolution be inceaseed? Maybe change the VR on the gimbal?
If the resolution can be increased this will be a big improvment for Devo 7e.

choose a zip from the first post in this thread e.g. nomulti
you will need to reflash your devo with this build (use the same method you used to first flash from devention to the deviation firmware.
Once this is done edit the hardware.ini file so that you can enable the 3x1 switch.
e.g.
;switch_types: 3x2, 3x1, 2x2
extra-switches=3x1
cheers

So I tried this the other night, I loaded a file from the first post, then I go in to the hardware file that is now on my tx and change add 2x2 for my switches. Right? Or do I change the .INI file before copying it to my tx? I am unable to get the additional switches to show up in the radio.
Thanks for any help

Just edit and save the file after you have flashed the build (edit on the drive).
The switches should appear as A and B for each switch.

Remove the semi-colon before "extra-switches=2x2". The semi-colon means ignore the rest of the line.

Don't worry, I fixed it:). I just had to change the position of the boxes 1,2,3 on main page config as they were all overlapped after flashing the latest nightly build onto it.

ahh i got you, the main screen can be set to be model specific, or you can have the same main screen layout for all models, though i don't understand why there are overlaps in any of the boxes as my builds don't touch any of that? unless the default layout has these problems?
anyway the newest builds are in the first post guys, the main addition this time is the KN protocol that is used currently on the wltoys v977 heli, though i think there will be more using this protocol in the near future.
as always if you find any bugs report them here or on bitbucket, and enjoy your flying

I've done the 3x2 switch mod, but after installing the latest nightly built (devo7e-nomulti-91301b7), my 7e does not work anymore.
I've edited the hardware.ini file. I uncommented the line and changed the value to: extra-switches=3x2 (by using Windows 7 wordpad)
I've changed the following: has_pa-cyrf6936 = 1 (because I've done the range mod successfully (already tested with the release 4.00)
The following two problems appear:
1. After swithing on the DEVO, a error message appears: "Bad/missing protocol modules!"
2. There are some switch combinations of the new 3-pos switches which "blocks" the up-trim of the left stick (throttle). Note: This problem also appear with the rel. 4.00 firmware.
After copying back the original fils (rel. 4.00), the "missing protocol" error disappears and everything works fine.
What is wrong?

the "missing protocol modules" error usually appears when you only flash the newer firmware and don't also copy across the new modules folder to the file system. try doing that and see if it fixes your problems

new builds are in the first post, main updates this time is telemetry is enabled on the FrSky protocol, a bind on start option for the v202 protocol, and the ability to use up to 12 channels when using the tx with a pc in USBHID mode.
