Certainly. I'll update this response with the STL when I have the chance. Do you by any chance have the part number of the one you're looking at -- I may need to mock one up to be sure we get a good fit.

I actually ordered two different speakers to test out but both are the same 16x9 size,
one is this one....102-3537-ND
CDS-15118B
SPEAKER 8OHM 700MW TOP PORT 86DB

EDIT just realized i goofed my order up one is 15x11 and one is 16x9 ...
Crap... i wanted both 16x9 cause of the limited space in the devo12s near the top buzzer port..What happens when you look at to many at the same time..lol

the other is this one...102-3540-ND
CDS-16098A
SPEAKER 8OHM 700MW TOP PORT 86DB

I've updated the STL files in the attached ZIP. This new version has both 15mm x 11mm and 16mm x 9mm. The OpenSCAD source is included, if you want to tinker with size or fit.

Thanks so much...I'll load them up to 3dhubs for printing and hopefully get fitted inside my 12s..

I noticed in the DFPlayer specs it mentions that there are 6 EQ settings, Is it possible to add a setting option in transmitter config to adjust the EQ setting?

Of course it would be very simple to add the commands, the problem is more the fitting of another configuration line in the color gui (for devo 12 color display, if I recall correctly). It would need another page and moving things around quite a bit. The question is do the different eq settings really have a big effect? Or is there maybe a suitable eq setting which we can send by default to optimize speech output?

I only have a devo 12e and 7e and must confess that I didn't give a single thought to those with a color GUI. Could it be done with a line in hardware.ini? Once the correct EQ setting is found for an individual speaker it wouldn't need to be changed again.

As many folks are using different speakers in their setups my thoughts were that the EQ settings could be useful to tune sound quality for the different speakers, just picking one of the EQ settings doesn't achieve this. Your speaker might like the Bass EQ setting whereas my speaker might not sound so good on the same EQ setting.

From my experience most if not all very small speakers frequency range out put is no way near to produce any notable amount of bass ..I would think that a EQ with a higher Hz range would be suitable for voice applications ...Kind of like turning up the Treble and turning down the bass for example..

I agree small speakers don't produce bass well, but they quite often sound "tinny" and finding a middle balance is where my thoughts were aimed.
I did a bit more experimenting today with different speaker arrangements, 1 x speaker, 2 speakers in series and parallel, and 4 speakers wired 2S2P what I ended up with in my external voice module is two speakers wired in parallel.
The tinniness is pretty much gone and the volume is about double.
With the way my voice module sounds now I am happy to leave deviation as is.
My thanks and appreciation to the developers.

Received my 3D printed micro speaker enclosures but went to test out the speakers and when ever the voice is triggered it shuts off my 12s..I think it is because i am running the DFplayer from the 3.3v on the main board and it is causeing to much drain for the voltage regulator to handle..
Would it hurt anything or overload the 3.3v on the tx if i hooked a pololu 5v step up to the 3.3v pin to give the DFplayer 5v rather then the 3.3 it is getting now ?

Can you run the dfplayer on voltage from a different source to rule out a power problem? Maybe use a lipo 1s battery and a step up to about 4.2-4.5v?

Was hopeing to keep everything internal without having external items...What i might be able to do is run it off the tx battery by tapping on the the terminals then put a separate switch for the player..Or if the main power switch has unused terminals perhaps i could use those to switch on the player the same time the tx is powered on..Guess i will just to open it up and have a look see..

I'm wondering if maybe the speaker is the issue, not the power connection. If you've got a short in the circuit for the speaker it might cause a reboot, Have you examined the wiring?

Just a late night thought...:S

Yes all the wiring is good..The voice alerts works great on the pololu speaker i have in use..I tested both the 15x11 and the 16x9 speakers, the 15x11 causes immediate reboot but the 16x9 only causes the tx to reboot when a long voice alert is played if the alert is short it works fine..It's not really a reboot the tx just shuts off and cycling the power switch it comes back on...I think the player is drawing to much current for the 3.3v regulator and it is shutting off..

The 12s uses a 1s lipo battery that's why i was thinking i could just power the player directly from it..but then would have to add a separate switch unless the main power switch has unused poles i could use to simply open/close the circuit to the player..

Well i took a chance and tried hooking a 5v step up to the 3.3v pin on the circuit board and the tx won't power on with it there..So apparently it is drawing to much current for the regulator..So that leaves me 3 options , 1 leave it as is cause it is working fine on the 3.3v pin with the speaker i have hooked to it...2 power the player directly from the main tx battery (4.2v) and installing a separate switch which i will some day defiantly forget to turn off...Or 3 remove the main board and see if there is unused pins on the main power switch i can use to open/close the circuit to the player and still use the main battery...For now just gonna leave it as is cause it is working , just a bit bummed out i can't use the 16x9mm speaker and box i had printed.. :(

@magic marty

could you use pololu step up/step down regulator connected to battery and shutdown pin to 3.3v line. Similar to using pololu to power extra rf modules in Devo 7e?

I was thinking about that earlier but not sure exactly how to hook it up...If it's as simple as hooking a trigger to the 3.3 then it should work i think..It would basically be like a relay in a car/truck on a 12v system

EDIT: I believe this one will work www.pololu.com/product/2562 if i use the tx battery for the V>in then hook the V>out to the DFplayer and hook the 3.3v pin on the tx board to the SHDN and it should enable the step up when powered on and disable when powered off...

if you are using pololu you may need to remove a resistor for it to shut down properly.

a resistor on the step up ?

There are header pins on the board i noticed when i had it open so i thought i would test them to see if they had voltage and strangely they have the main battery voltage on them but soo as the tx is switched on they have no voltage..I wondered if there would be some way to use them as a switch ect...
