Hi, can anyone show me how they wired up the dfplayer mini in their Devo 10? I'm interested in how did you power it up.
Thanks
Thanks

There are at least two posts in the last 20 pages of this thread showing where devo 10 power connection for dfplayer is.

Thanks, I managed to locate some bits of useful info. Looks like there's no 5V hook up point available so I'll have to get some step ups.
Anyone tried the dfplayer mini on 3.3V in the Devo 10? Is it drawing too much current?

Thank you, appreciate it. Are you happy with powering it up from 3.3V? (your English is fine btw)
Edit: poked around and looks like I can hook it up to battery voltage and use a step down. I'll give that a go and if I'm happy I'll add it to the wiki.

Yeah no worries. I hooked it up to 3.3V and it works fine. The volume seems a bit low, I wonder if going up to 4.2V will improve it (I'm using a 0.8W Taranis speaker).
Edit: I just realised I have had this radio since 2011 after I completely fried my previous Devo 10 trying to repair it. I've been here with PhracturedBlue, FDR and suvsuv since the beginning. That's a freaking long time. Cheers people, what a ride!!
Edit2: memories!!!

Ok so I'm on a devo10 and gonna be using the frsky r9m connected to PXX protocol. As I understand if we use pxx input to devo10 we lose voice alert capability. Is there any way to have both functioning, is there another pinout on the board or stmf1 chip we can solder to to get another serial line to enable voice alert?

No usart pin free on devo 10, pins are occupied by switches. Could possibly bit bang another pin for this, but nothing to really easily mod.

So after many attempts with the f12e i cannot find an internal power source other than off the battery (always on)
Most spots just make the transmitter reboot. Even tapping the 12v external power plug and using a stepdown causes massive cpu slowdowns and is unusable. You simply cant tap off anywhere past where power enters the board from what i can tell
Only two simple options as i see it are a seperate battery for the dfplayer or an always on direct lipo power source with a stepdown converter and remembering to unplug your battery. At least in the case of the f12e

What about a Pololu step down connected to battery voltage? Using the shutdown input (connected to a pad which is high when power is on) you can reduce idle current to 20ua.

I have no F12e or any of it's schematics. Any pin which is high when power is on will be fine.
