Hi !
I had a try on my devo F7 but no success too...
It just shows DEVIATION USB on the screen, but nothing else happens after...
It was so close ! How can we make it work ?

I've read that you have to copy the files to the USB drive that appears. Unfortunately, the available memory is so low you can't because of the allocation unit size of 2k. I'm able to connect with a standard USB mini cable. When you do this it will ask to format. If you do this you will lose all current settings and the F7 will be useless until you load the Walkera firmware again. I'm hoping an official F7 thread will be started here so we can get together and get this worked out.

On the F7 you need to use the deviation uploader to install deviation and up and download model configs...

I've tried 2 versions of the deviation installer and I can upload the firmware but not the config files. Without those files the F7 doesn't work, it just stays in USB mode. How do we upload the config files and which files? There is over 100k in files and less than 64k on the F7. This is why I'd like a dedicated F7 thread.

Hi to all members,
I bought a devo F12E lately and like most others wish to bind several RC models.
I tried to upgrade the deviation firmware using this method.
However, the deviation firmware could not save any changes I made at all!!!
After some search, I found the following link
www.deviationtx.com/wiki/installing_on_f_series
Now, I have questions regarding the entire firmware upgrade procedure.
Is the upgrade requires two steps?
1) using the steps mentioned above by tools lile (DFU USBDrv Installer-1.1.zip and DeviationUpload-0.8.0.jar etc.);
2) use this link
www.deviationtx.com/wiki/installing_on_f_series
to complete the second step.
OR I totally wrong about that!!!
Thank you for you guys in advance.

Hi, allow me to ask whether the DEVO F12E deivation firmware upgrade requires two steps?

I have been away for another couple months and just got back so sorry this is late. However, if you are still looking for your answer the tutorial that I have here was pre-F12E fully supported. It looks like now that you should be able to just use DFUSE upgrade tool and load the firmware. I am going to give it a shot on a newly upgraded F12E with 4MB flash (Replace flash memory chip).

Looks like now that the devo.fs is available you do not need to use this method I put together using the Java loader.
Instead do the following:
1. Install the DFUSE upload utility and run it
2. Download the latest firmware build for F12E.
3. Put the device in DFU mode.
4. Select the firmware version of deviation-devof12e-v....and then Click upgrade.
5. Power off the device, then turn it back on.
6. It should come up with devo.fs on a windows drive.
7. Copy over the devo.fs onto the USB drive over the existing devo.fs file (I had to delete and then copy over).
8. Then power cycle again and it boots!
This is much easier now that they have the devo.fs filesystem built into it.

Thank you for the info guys. I just completed this on my Devo F7 and I was stuck for the past 2 years. The deviation uploader was what I was doing wrong. Deleted and pasted the .fs in the usb device and it worked!!!!!

Is fpv working on your screen? Can you bind easily? I am thinking of buying one I have a f12e out of commission until my replacement chip comes in long story. But if I can get the F7 to work the same way I'm all in!

Are you sure it's just DSM and Devo? No J6Pro?
Anyway, to get anything other than those three, you need to install more RF modules and enable them in tx.ini. Instructions are in the wiki.

So I found a thread suggesting to also read the devo f4 thread and got a lot of help from that. On my devo f7 I was able to get dsmx and dsmx and devo protocols. I ordered my 4 in 1 so I can use my frsky receivers.
The video works great when I flew my blade fpv nano. I set my aux 2 to activate the video. At some point I accidently set my throttle to start video so I had to hold full stick to fix it.
Dsmx and dsm2 binding was very and my blade nano flew great. My cheerson cx10 dsm2 flew fine and didn't notice any issues either.

Nice do you have a any issues with FPV or does it work good? Did you do the 4mb mod or just stock with the firmware mod?

I didn't do the 4mb mod just deviation. The video works fine but not as fluid to set up as stock fw. I ended up changing the channel on my vtxto find my devo vrx. While setting up the video activation I accidently set my rudder then thr to control it so I only had a blue screen. I'm going to bind my runner 250 gps to it this evening to test the vide outdoors.
On my nano the first after my initial bind I had no response from the quad but it could have been the nano not the f7. It worked when I restarted both the F7 and nano.

Could the text on my devo f7 screen be adjusted? When I switch on the video it stretches the text out.

FYI do not use the devo.fs file from the Devo F12E it won't work on the Devo F7. I pulled the OG Devo.fs file from the nightly build added my models and presto! Working like a charm.

Hey planetfpv what did you do to get DSMX to work? I am having the same issue. I saw you mentioned you were able to get that working but I didn't see what your fix was.
*** Just figured it out. You need to pull the protocol from the nightly build and add it to the .fs file with buildfs.exe and you will get DSMX support there you can see DSM2 and Devo protocols inside as well. So just open the zip and copy the missing protocol to your directory you use to build your .FS files and you will have you protocol available after you reboot.
