I think silpstreams howto's for the u7e swaps are as easy to follow as you can get bud, but if there is any part of it you want cleared up or more detail on don't hesitate to ask. also for soldering in the new mcu try a local mobile phone repair shop, or depending where you are based some of the members here will do the swap for a small fee

Thanks a lot bud! I'm trying to read as much here as I can and someday it'll be the time to make it
. Let me say it's quite amazing how you and the other guys made a piece of gold of this cheap bread and butter TX. I already got a nice Devo 7e with range, switches, nRF and A7105 mods just by following these excellent howto's and I really love it.

no problem bud
no6/VIN - i lifted the no6 pad on the transmitter when removing the stock cyrf module, so i had to find a different source for +5v
no9/10/13 - you can solder these 3 pins in any order you want to, as long as you edit the hardware.ini file with the correct definitions for each rf chip
using my method it would be
using the original method from the pictures it would be
so like i said as long as hardware.ini matches your wiring choice it will work ok

Any idea where we can find these 4in1 modules? I'm looking at getting a Devo 10 and this sounds much easier to install than the 3in1.

the devo version 4in1 is only currently available direct from the manufacturers taobao page here >

if purchasing from there make sure and choose the correct version 4in1 in the options by selecting 'blue' and 'devo modification'. keep in mind you can only buy direct from taobao if you are in asia so you'll need to use a service site like
chinabuyagency.com
or try contacting the manufacturer and ask to buy one from him without using taobao.
it's has also been posted recently that banggood has an order of the devo version 4in1's on the way so they soon may be available from there also.

Harry whats the difference between devo version 4 in 1? Does it mean the LNA and RF amp and RF switch are correctly controlled?
Just to hook up the 4 Chip select Pins, to the devo and all modules 100% functional inc full software control over lNA & RF amp? (So not just always enabled lna or RF out amp on by CSN line?)

the latest 4in1 boards (those made after around the end of june) have all of the functional issues fixed bud, the way to identify the boards that have these fixes are that they have 13 solder pads on one side of the pcb instead of 12. as for the main difference, the devo version uses a different daughterboard that is practically plug and play in the d6/8/10/12 bar needing 3 wires (not 4 as it uses the existing cyrf ce line) soldered in place for the ce lines as it plugs into the existing rf modules header, it doesn't get much easier imo (apart from victzh's coming daughterboard for the 4in1) to make your transmitter multiprotocol capable, it is also deviation compliant where as the bare 4in1 isn't directly compatible without extra components and the jr module style version isn't compatible at all, and of course for the 7e the devo version 4in1 needs all wires soldered in as this howto thread shows

Anybody who tested it, can confirm that?
Confirm telemetry receive has full range on all chips
Transmit power is max power for each chip
The current consumption of the 4in1 module for each of the 4 chip, compares to using single rf chip module?
Might consider to put such module in my tx....Have always been holding off, because of those issues.

yes me, I was among the first to receive the new version and fully tested everything.
afaiu full telemetry range is more to do with the rx having a pa than the tx module itself, as the tx's rx/lna can only process a signal if it's there, so if telemetry works on the tx at close range it will work for as long as it receives a signal from the rx
all range tests done by people who have the 4in1 and seperate modules (myself included) show the 4in1 having the same/similar range as seperate modules.
no idea on the actual current draw, but I've not noticed the tx batteries needing charged any sooner than normal so it must be close.
there's no techinal reason to hold off the 4in1 any longer bud, so if you want one go for it, also for some more test results it's worth reading the diy multimodule thread on rcg (although it uses a different daughterboard it uses the same rf module so functionality and range etc will still be comparable) and the 4in1 thread here, again ignore any posts that don't have the new module style

Could someone put together a clear guide on installing the 4in1 in a 7e?
I could sort it out from what I've seen so far, but I don't trust myself to solder the CPU pin, so I'm hoping to find a guide that I can bring to a local guy and be able to clearly show hm what I need.

Hi, I have a several mini/micro quads and have been thinking about getting the Devo 7e for a while and Now the 4-in-1 is out it seems like a no brainer. The wiring part looks like a pain but I'll have a go, I am a bit confused about the antenna though, does the original antenna just plug into the connector on the module or do I need to buy a tail and a new antenna?

you have 2 plug and play options for the antenna, the first (which i recommend due to allowing positioning the antenna for the best radiation pattern) is to buy a ufl<sma pigtail and a standard dipole then modify the antenna tube to mount it as i did in this howto
