Carn't upgrade my Devo12s was created by Berryman
I have come back to my heli's and my devo 12s after pursuing other interists and I thought I would upgrade my Devo12s because I was thinking of getting another model and I didn't want to buy another receiver to bind with the next model so all I am left with is the usb symbol it want upload the files.

I'm not sure if i understand what you're asking.
1. do you want to install your Devo 12s with a new firmware or
2. do you want to save an ini file in the Devo for a new model?

I have downloaded deviation newest version to my controller and now all I get when I turn the controller on is the USB symbol on the LCD screen.

Which you should start with:
Use the latest version of the DfuSe tool.
walkera-fans.de/download/tools/dfuse/Dfu...rade-Tools-3.0.5.zip
Read and follow the instructions for installing Deviation on the 12s. Please note the special installation of the library file.

Do not use DfuSe 3.0.5, it's DfuSe Demo. You can destroy bootloader with it.
Use Dfuse USB Upgrade Tools v2.31
walkera-fans.de/download/tools/dfuse/Dfu...e%20Tools%202.31.zip
If you have USB logo on screen, you need format the transmitter USB drive and copy the filesystem from firmware archive.

You can install devention firmware and start over if need be. I have fashed 3 12s and love the touch screen. Just be sure to use 2.31.

Could you reformat the memory in the Devo 12s using a file manager (Windows Explorer for example) with the FAT file system?
You can NOT use DfuSe for this action.

You have to get the file system on the 12s before it will work. The 8s and 12s have to be flashed with media.dfu under the media tab. Go back and read the forum about all flashing. I got and f7 stuck in usb sometime back and got it to work. Don't give up when you get it right it will work. Study the forum.

This happened to my 7e two years ago. The file system could not be recovered by flashing a Deviation release and windows was not able to format the flash. After several tries I finally flashed the original firmware
for this transmitter and tested a model upload. All this worked with the Walkera Firmware.
Then I started new with Deviation and how should I say, it worked this time. Fortunately I had a current backup of the models.

This is only right for the Devo 12s, not for the Devo 8s.
