RX1002 pitch servo (AUX1, Ch6) was created by MikeyFTL
Trying to setup an RX1002 on a V450D01 and can't seem to get the pitch servo to work. I have the servo plugged into AUX1 and I'm using the V450D01 3D model I downloaded here. I was fiddling with the transmitter and I changed template to EXPO_DR, curve type to EXPO..etc. and I got it to work briefly. Not sure what the SRC and [mixer] settings should be. After fiddling around some more, it stopped again and I can't figure out what I did.

Below is the original channel 6 settings from the V450D01 3D model ini.

Any ideas? Thanks.

[channel6]
template=complex
[mixer]
src=THR
dest=Ch6
usetrim=0
curvetype=7point
points=-15,-10,-5,0,19,37,55
[mixer]
src=THR
dest=Ch6
switch=FMODE1
usetrim=0
curvetype=7point
points=-55,-37,-19,0,19,37,55
[mixer]
src=THR
dest=Ch6
switch=FMODE2
usetrim=0
curvetype=7point
points=-55,-37,-19,0,19,37,55

Pitch servo???

Is the V450D01 a FBL heli? If yes the FBL system controls all three servos.
RX1002 seem only to be a normal receiver (looking at pictures)? No FBL/receiver unit.

What is not working in detail? Up-/Down Pitch? Or only one servo AUX1 (right pitch servo)?

You seem not to use the 6CH heli template.
It would use Cyclic1, Cyclic2, Cyclic3 and map CH6 to virtual CYC-COL (collective).
The pitch curves would be setup on CYC-COL by the template normally.

If it is a paddle heli, you MUST use Cyclic1-3 6CH heli template.

Well, that may make not much that difference if it is FBL. So you can send the pitch values to CH6 directly.
If you use a 3rd party Non-Walkera FBL system connected to RX1002 you may have configured it not in the right way?

I would not use any model.ini templates you do not understand well.

If you changed from 6CH heli template to a simple expo_dr template that may be the reason the heli settings are corrupt?!?

Have you checked your channel / mixer monitor if the pitch curve values are really transmitted on CH6?

Please note that there is a 4th pitch curve which acts on throttle hold TH.
It will "mute" all other 3 pitch curves which are active on FMODE0-2.

As you can see too many unknown conditions about your exact environment, settings and cable connections :(

Yes, it's FBL.

You're right that I don't understand everything about model.ini. Obviously the model I'm using is setup for a receiver with a dedicated PIT channel that the RX1002 doesn't have....so I'm kinda stumped.

Your channel 6 setup looks fine. Very similar to what I use for my Mini CP. You could eliminate a mixer. SRC for a pitch mixer should be THR. And yes, that should be the AUX1 on the Rx.

However, you shouldn't be plugging the servos directly into that Rx on an FBL heli. Instead, you should be plugging them into the FBL unit. It looks like the V450D001 normally comes with a combined Rx/FBL unit, the R270x. Those you do plug servos directly into, and they do have a dedicated Pit output.

If you don't have a stand-alone FBL unit you'll need to add one.

I'm doing this more out of curiosity to see how hard it is to fly a 450 without a gyro. I agree that ultimately I'll need the RX2703 to actually enjoy flying the heli, but I had the RX1002 lying around from when I bought my Devo 10, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Then you need the 6CH heli template and activate the CCPM mixer (cyclic1-3). Probably 120?

I think it is nearly impossible to fly a FBL heli without the FBL controller.
BTW you could try it with the FBL unit in service mode...

I agree with FDR. Without either a flybar or an FBL controller, it's going to be pretty much impossible to fly.
