Can someone tell me how to convert Images to working BMP-Files for Icons?
Which Software ca be used? I tried Gimp 2.8.2 but there I can not frind the options to convert to BMP with transparency. Where can I select the transparent color?

I allready read this.
In my version of Gimp (2.8.2) there are no options to export BMPs in this format...

in the BMP Export Dialog select "enhanced options" then
check "16 Bit R5 G6 B5"
