throttle setup was created by walter56
I am a biginner and I would like a template about ESC motor control.
I try to setup it, but my CH3 stick works only from the center to the full throttle
From the down position to the center of the stick the montor don't run.

many thank in advance

Hi,

what can you see when you look up "Transmitter menu" / "Channel Monitor"? Is the value of CH3 rising from -100% to +100% when you move the Throttle Stick?

What is your TX Type?

Hi ,
i confirm that channel monitor CH3 is - 100% to +100%.

My TX type is V3

Channel configuration CH3
safe val = 0
min limit = -150
max limit = 150
scale - = 100
scale + = 100
subtrim = 0.0
speed = 0

Simple MIX type
curve = 1 a 1
scale = 100
offset = 0

thanks
Walter

What heli are you flying?
What's the receiver and flight controller setup?

If it's a collective pitch heli with throttle on channel 3 you most likely have a "smart" flight controller with its own ideas about throttle curves.

Could also be the same with a fixed pitch or maybe just ESC endpoints.

Maybe it would be good to test the output of the receiver first, if it is delivered the whole way. You could simply connect a servo there.

If on the channel 3 the servo works properly, then I would try to reprogram the ESC with the entire throttle travel.

BTW: The ESC is not from the RC-Car or Ship?

Hi,

I try to put a servo on CH3 and it works properly.

My ESC is a new one.

Walter if you need further help, then you should also give us some more information.

Now that it is clear that it is neither the TX, and its programming for CH3, nor the RX that is the problem and we can also rule out a problem with deviation.

So it would be good to know which ESC you are using, regardless of whether it is new. It would be best to tell us the name of the manufacturer and the type of ESC.

My ESC is a FullPower PRO 6A BEC.

But my doubt is: if the regulation curve is negative with the stick in the down position, how can the ESC/motor run ?
The motor will run starting only with the stick in the central position, increasing to full speed with the stick in the uper position.

In my opinion the current recgulation curve is only suitable for endothermic engines.

Hi Walter,

You are starting from the wrong premises. The ESC does not get a negative control value from the TX.

The ESC gets a pulse width modulated signal (PWM) between 1000ms - 2000ms from the RX, the center position corresponds to 1500ms. From this the ESC generates a rotating field for the connected brushless motor.

Exactly with this PWM the servo on the RX on Throttle CH 3 works perfectly.

Would you like to send us a link with a manual of the ESC, then we could see how the throttle travel must be taught into the ESC. Under the name of the ESC "FullPower PRO 6A BEC" I find different variants of an ESC. Which one is it exactly?

Greetings
Dirk

The YT video describes a similar problem as you have and shows the calibration of an ESC.

Hi Walter,

Fail Safe is the name of the function that should ensure that Throttle is switched off when no receive signal arrives. You can find a short information in the documentation here under 8.8.11

deviationtx.com/user-manual/user-manual-6-8-12

In the mixer: Have a look in the settings of the throttle channel. There you will find the item Fail Safe depending on the RX and the protocol.
