I've got a 4 channel receiver to play with. It works fine with everything I'm giving it.
I just need to figure out how the ID / channel is mapped...

nice job, this will save a lot off rx from sale, i have more than 10 assan rx....
btw did test it with v1 rx, or only v2?
they are compatible, normaly, v1 is using only one chanel.

The TX I've worked on is an ASSAN X8D 2.4Ghz V2. It does use 2 frequencies, one fix and another one randomely moving at every boot.
The RX is a X8R4H mini series. I can't see V2 written on it. So I assume it's a V1...Since the TX and RX communicate to bind, there could be a difference at this stage... Let's hope that my hack will work also on a V2.
I don't have anything else to test and I'm ready to ship back the TX+RX to my friend.

THX Pascal for you work.
The assan minis 4/6 chanel are V2. the 6/7 chanel with the black housing are also v2
the big once with the external antenna have stickers
the V1 are the only the 6/7 chanel with white housing and IIRC the 3 chanel car rx.
if you compile a running version incl the afhds2 mod from goebish for 12S i can do the test, i have a lot off assan stuff here.

Wow, well done
Thank you very much for your work! I own about 35 Assan receivers, all V2. I'm going to test it when I have a NRF24L01 TX Module installed.

Good news, I have reports that it works on X8R6 Mini and X8R6M Micro.
It's also working on my X8R4H Mini.

It's a straight forward protocol which should not be complicated to integrate.

Installed the nrf24l01 today, tested ASSAN binding. When binding the receiver is blinking red led, when binded DEVO 7e makes a sound, led's are blinking red and yellow. It's not working after removing battery and bind plug and reattaching battery. I get blinking red and yellow led. Tested 4x R8R4H, all doing the exact same thing.

There is a assan_scan archive at the end of the page, firmware and library for avr...
Only thing not working is binding.
I know it's a rx firmware but we all know that PB is a magician
