The original code for KN is also Russian, and the current one is actually not

Yeah, so now we have a German extension of a russian-patched unkown-origin code which itself is a rewrite of russian code. You have to love the internet, don't you?
Back to topic, reports on RCGroups have been well for the extended code for V977 (and other similar WL Toys) and FX-series, so I'd be happy to see this in future releases

Hi Moeder/Victzh,
I just picked up my V977 BNF from the post office this morning. Which build I should try after work, the currently nightly build or the Russian one on the web? I have a devo 7e with 2 extra 2 way switches.
Thanks,

Try the one I posted
earlier in this thread
, it is based on a very current nightly and incorporates the patch from the russian site. It should work without any flaws, some people reported glitches with the protocol version of the official nightly. You might also compare both and report back your own experience.

Sorry I can't read Russian, but shouldn't we have 11 channels, the last 3 for trimming?
However I only find 10 channels in the current hg clone.
I have to find a ini file to match the number of channels.
You mean using deviation-devo7e-v4.0.1-415e24c bin? Or I can try patching the hg clone using kn.patch.
Thanks.

Yes, my 415e24c build is correct. It has (almost) current nightly + kn.patch + extension for Feilun helicopters and offers 11 channels.

I'll use that after work.
Hope that would also improve binding to my FX071C RX, the only other KN RX I have.
Thanks.

Hello,
I'm new in rc heli. I have a problem to install the deviation 4.01 with kn protocol for my devo 7e. My current test version is "deviation-devo7e-v4.0.1-415e24c".
After the installation . If I turn on tx and press ENT , a strange blank sceen will be displayed and there will be no response anymore. All I can do is turn the power off . My 7e is new from two weeks ago.
Problem will be fixed by install the offical deviation 4.01 without kn protocol . But I need the kn protocol very much for my v977.
Anyone can give some suggestions ? Pls help ! Thx!

Did you also copy the included filesystem? Does this happen at initial startup or only when you have selected the KN protocol?

Moeder, thx for your reply
I copied the file system from the offical package and also the "protocol" folder including kn protocol from the "deviation-devo7e-v4.0.1-415e24c". package.
I found that many people are success with this version.
It may because I make a wrong installation procedure. Or it may because my tx is a brand new version

Please try installing the whole filesystem from the 415e24c zip, not only the protocols. The last official deviation release is more than a year old...

But I didn't find the system file form my package.e.g. the datalog.bin, layout, media, template, etc...
And here are the files from mine:
1. protocol (25 mod inside)
2. debug-devo7e-v4.0.1-1b6535d.zip
3. deviation-devo7e-v4.0.1-1b6535d.dfu
4. UPDATING.md

Oh ok...I missed that.
Please try the current nightly build, it should include everything as well as the updated KN protocol.

Moeder, Thx very much
I just find the deviation-devo7e-v4.0.1-92e1705 nightly build . That is great. My v977 and devo 7e are working fine.
Have a nice weekend !

ShingTong,
Thanks to Moeder, we solved the screen whiteout puzzle on my 7E a couple of weeks ago.
It turned out a power supply issue. When my 7E hit the current limit on the LDO while running the KN protocol, the screen started to corrupt after a while, whiteout/reset followed. Depending on how hard the protocol worked, the time before whiteout varied... KN (FX/Feulin) dropped the 3.3V rail on my 7e to below 2.4V even before hitting the whiteout and KN (WLToys) to around 3.0V. KN (WLToys), used for V977, did not hit the whiteout yet, but it was already over the line. It gave us bogus voltage reading, something like 30% higher than it should be as the reference dropped with LDO cutoff. Put an eye to the TX voltage reading if you are showing that on the screen.
I added an extra LDO (1117) to supply the RF modules on 7E. It works fine now.
Regards.
